Batch Mixing vs. Continuous Mixing

In batch operation, all ingredients are loaded into the mixer together or in a

pre-defined sequence, and mixed until a homogenous material is produced and

discharged from the mixer in a single lot.

The output of a batch mixer is measured in kg/batch.

The continuous mixer is generally dedicated to a single high volume product.

Ingredients are continuously charged into the mixer in accordance with the

formulation. The mixing takes place as the material travels from the charging

port to the discharge nozzle, from where it is continuously discharged.

The output of a continuous mixer is measured in kg/hr.

Selection of batch or continuous mixer depends on several factors,

Quantity of the material to be mixed,

Desired standards of homogeneity of product mix,

Pre-mixing operations and material handling equipment,

Post-mixing operations, and

Any multiple product formulation requirement.

Plough shear mixer

A wide range of plough shear mixers are highly suited for

mixing dry material like powders and granules as well as liquid

material like wetting and pastes of low thickness. These mixers

are highly efficient for super fast mixing of powders, granules

with or without addition of liquids. We manufacture these

products using optimum quality raw materials to assure high

durability and robust construction.

Sigma mixer

This mixture consists of twin trough each fitted with a rotating

agitator and each one of these agitator is a heavy duty ‘z’ shaped

blade. The product is introduced from the top of the mixture and

same access is used to clean the mixture. While in operation the

product is loaded up to 40% to 65% of the mixture capacity. The

blade can overlap & rotate at same speed or variable speed. In ‘z’

blade two counter rotating ‘z’ - blades fold and shear the material

quiet severely.

Soap Crutcher It is robust machine, designed for

mixing of raw material to make Soap

(i.e. Oils, Caustic, Silicate, Water &

other fillers etc.). This is a double

jacketed vessel, works with presence of

Steam or Thermic fluid Boiler. Inside it

a helical thread worm is fitted, which

rotates Clockwise & anti Clockwise in

the small drum, those is also double

jacketed & open from both ends so that

thread worm sponifies the raw material

up & down very properly. Outer

jacketed shell & inner jacketed drum

transfer’s heat gently at all point to raw

material to final formation of Soap.

Agitator

Agitator :- An agitator is a device or

mechanism to put something into motion

by shaking or stirring. There are three main

types of agitation machines are as follow :

The washing machine agitator, which

rotates back and forth;

The magnetic agitator, which contains a

magnetic bar which rotates about a

magnetic field;

The manual agitation, such as with a

stirring rod.

Cone Screw Mixer

Cone screw mixer is widely used in

chemical, food, cosmetic and

pharmaceutical industries. The floor space

required for this type of mixer is very less

and they can be started on full load. The

material of various densities, sizes and

particle shapes are also mixed

homogeneously without any degradation.

The screw rotates about its own axis and

revolves along the walls of the cone. Due

to the conical shape the unloading of the

material is helped by gravity and is

complete without any hold-up.

High Speed / Shear Mixer

A high-shear mixer disperses, or transports, one

phase or ingredient (liquid, solid, gas) into a main

continuous phase (liquid), with which it would

normally be immiscible. A rotor or impellor,

together with a stationary component known as a

stator, or an array of rotors and stators, is used

either in a tank containing the solution to be

mixed, or in a pipe through which the solution

passes, to create shear. A high-shear mixer can be

used to create emulsions, suspensions, lyosols (gas

dispersed in liquid), and granular products.

Paddle Mixer

Paddle mixer is used for mixing solids or liquids of various particle size, density

and viscosity. These are fabricated using premium quality materials that are

tested for its durability and efficiency. They are available in various dimensions

according to the requirements of the customers. They are used in various

Ribbon Blender

Ribbon a blender comprises of a ‘u’ shaped horizontal trough and a specially

designed double helical ribbon rotating within. Each set having one inner and

one outer ribbon. Both the sets are accurately positioned and oppositely pitched

on the agitator shaft to prevent localized accumulation and effect good mixing

of the products. In the ribbon blender powder is mixed horizontally as well as

vertically. Ribbon blenders are suitable for free too cohesive type of powder

and can handle varying densities. These ribbon blenders are used for mixing

dry granules & powders homogeneously.

GLYCERIN SOAPS COOLER

Soap cooler is a high performance,

horizontal, turbulent heat exchanger. It

consists of a horizontal stationary tank

with a number of elliptical tubes

welded vertically with the tank plate.

There are two platforms, one for

hydraulic cylinder and other for pusher

piston rods. The latter one slides up and

down along with the pusher pistons

mounted on it. The pusher piston

moves inside the mould tubes. Two

platforms and tank are held together

rigidly with the help of four guide bars

and proper lock nuts.

Advantages of Granules over Powders

Granules are prepared through Agglomerates of Smaller Powder Particles.

Granules are free flow in nature.

Generates less amount of dust in processing.

More stable to Atmospheric Humidity.

Powders may become sticky, pasty.

Faster rate of dissolution and absorption.

Granules are in various sieve size range.

Advantages of PSM over Ribbon Blender

Plough Shear Mixer used for mixing various phase interactions. Solid-Solid,

Solid - Liquid and Solid Gaseous.

In a Ploughshare Mixer, the product being processed is mechanically fluidized

accordingly there is increase in specific area and hence more intimate mixing.

With added features a Ploughshare Mixer can be used as an effective reactor

and dryer. The residence time is very small for mixing.

Whereas Ribbon Blender is moved without any fluidization and hence the

interaction between the particles is limited. It can be used more for blending and

the in case of solid liquid interaction, the liquid quantity is limited.
