Tuesday, March 26.
It’s 24 hours for the Lord. Won’t you please come!
LENTEN PRAYER~ Your Word reveals to us a simple truth, that sin entered this world through human folly in
believing we could be like you, and permeated history through envy, selfishness and greed. Yet sin, which holds us
tight within its grasp cannot resist a heart that is touched by your grace through Jesus Christ, cannot contend with
Living Water pouring into hearts and souls. Your Word reveals to us a simple truth, that sin is defeated and we can
become the people we were always meant to be, by your grace through Jesus Christ. Amen

A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE
The owner of the fig tree was impatient because the tree
did not live up to his expectations. In families there are
those who don’t live up to our expectations. Imitate the
gardener and give them more time and help. Don’t cut
them out of your life. Love asks us to be connected, not
productive.

Prayer: Holy God, Thank You for inviting us to partner
with You in this struggle against the evil of abortion. We
know that we don't have to fight this battle alone, for You
are with us and You are the Source of the power that will
get things done. You are our Strength, our Shield, our
Stronghold, and our Sure Defense. Father we pray that
You would guide our thoughts, words, and deeds by the
power of Your Spirit. May our mouths be righteous and
utter wisdom; may our tongues speak with justice. You

The history of salvation is the history of God
showing how much he cares. We have all experienced
God's closeness. Fr. Philip Cascia, a priest from the
Archdiocese of Hartford who recently passed away had
a particularly memorable experience of it a few years
ago.
During the Cold War, when the United States and
the Soviet Union seemed heading towards mutual
nuclear destruction, Fr. Philip started an organization
called Intersport USA. Its goal was to advance world
peace through international exchange programs for
high school athletes. His memorable experience of
God's closeness occurred during a trip to Vietnam in the
early 1980s - one of his first attempts to get the
program off the ground. Before he even landed, though,
his plane was surrounded by communist fighter jets and
escorted to a nearby military air base. Stern soldiers
whisked Fr. Philip from the plane into an interrogation room.
A barrage of insults and accusations followed. But that
was just the warm-up. Fr. Phil could see the smugness
in his captors' eyes as they waited for the commanding
general.
When the general arrived, a new verbal assault
began. At its climax, the commander ordered all of the
guards out of the room. Fr. Cascia braced himself.
Suddenly, when the soldiers had left the room, the
general knelt down and kissed Father's hand. He said,
"My mother always prayed that God send me a priest,
no matter where I was. When I saw you get off the
plane, I knew you were sent by God."
Shocked and overjoyed, Father heard the general's
confession. Then the general ordered the soldiers back
in and resumed his interview with the supposed Vatican
spy. In the end, the general allowed Fr Philip to
continue on his journey, and even re-fueled the plane.
Encouraged and grateful to God for this sign, Father
continued laying the groundwork for his project, which
in years to come would win him two nominations for the
Nobel Peace Prize. Yes, at times God may seem far
away, because, after all, he's God, but in fact, he is
much closer than we realize, because he cares.

BABIES IN THE WOMB ARE “Pre-Born”...Not Unborn
Consider how the pro-abortion advocates marketed and sold their endorsement of abortion. It is not
called pro-murder. It is called pro-choice. They appealed to the current culture’s mentality; a mentality
that we have been exhibiting since the 1960s. We live in a cafeteria culture. Everyone wants choices.
We want to pick and choose our morality. Everyone wants to feel empowered in making their own
decisions, right or wrong: moral relativism. Thus, the Madison Avenue advertising gurus cleverly chose
pro-choice in promoting death, but also in concealing the truth; pro-murder. As for images? Oh, they
definitely don’t want you to see those, and refuse to show them in any of their promotions
or campaigns.
The term “unborn” creates a problem, because it is somewhat vague. It gives the reader or listener an
image of someone who is not born and perhaps, never will be. For example, a couple might talk about
their future “unborn children” they are planning to have one day, but do not exist as of yet. Pre-born, on
the other hand, gives an image of someone who is already in existence, and is waiting to be born. It
gives a more human and realistic description of the baby developing right here and now. It describes a
very real person who is living and breathing in the present– not the future.
Therefore, with the knowledge and scientific understanding that life begins at fertilization, and that we
are living human beings in the womb, why don’t we all use the reference preborn? If we support life,
and acknowledge that a child deserves our respect, support and protection while waiting comfortable in
the womb until the birth process, why not give them the dignity they deserve and refer to them as
preborn? Let’s proclaim life accurately. Because now that we know the truth, referring to them as
anything less is not only unkind, it is also uninformed. Pro-Life Articles
“More than four thousand innocent lives are taken each day in the land of the free and home of the
brave, whose lady holds high the torch of welcome to human life.”
