On June 28,1914 Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie were assassinated.
On July 23, 1914 Austria-Hungary gave Serbia an ultimatum to end all anti-Austrian agitation and to punish all involved in the murder.
On July 28, 1914 Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia.
