Enclosed you will find a media kit for the new releaseAlone with a Jihadist: A Biblical Response to Holy War,

written by first-time author Aaron D. Taylor.

InAlone with a Jihadist: A Biblical Response to Holy War, missionary and evangelist Aaron Taylor details his

meeting with a militant jihadist named Khalid. Out of this one conversation, Taylor came to the revelation that

Christians are taught in the Bible to live outside of the policies mandated by government and instead practice the

philosophy of pacifism. Once an advocate of military aggression and the just cause of violence on behalf of fellow

Christians, Taylor now works toward his goals of promoting brotherhood and a love for others as modeled by Jesus

    Christ.

AARON D. TAYLORMissionary, speaker, and author details how his meeting with a jihadist formed his

belief that Christians are called to be pacifists

Aaron Taylor was raised in aMidwestern charismatic churchwith the belief that Christians hada duty to take up arms in defenseof their government and the idealsof freedom. He supported ouractions in Iraq and asserted thatonly one political party was theappropriate home for true

believers of God. After a meetingin London with Khalid, a militant jihadist, Taylor cameaway with a deep questioning of the ideals that, up tothat moment, formed a cornerstone for his theology.

InAlone with a Jihadist:A Biblical Response toHoly War, Aaron Taylorshares his personal revelationthat Christians are not to besupporters of military or

other violent solutions to theworlds problems. He reliesheavily on exact text fromScripture to advocateChristian promotion of peaceand understanding. He does not advocate imposing thisChristian perspective on government, but believes thateach Christian must be responsible for his own personalideology and actions. Taylors hope is thatAlone witha Jihadist: A Biblical Response to Holy Warwilloffer a solution to end religious, politically-motivated

    warfare.

An Evangelist Missionary Advocates Pacifism for Christians after OneConversation Altered His Worldview

    BOOK SYNOPSIS

Alone with a Jihadist: A Biblical Response to Holy Wardetails howthe author, Aaron D. Taylor, experienced a complete transformationin his world outlook following an encounter with an outspokenjihadist named Khalid. Taylor, who was raised in a suburbancharismatic church, followed the belief for many years that ourmilitary intervention in the Middle East was not only justified, butnecessary. After being challenged by Khalid to rethink the Biblicalbasis for violence by Christians and the role that government shouldplay in promoting religious ideology, Taylor converted to pacifism.

The current geopolitical landscape is one that certainly warrantsattention. From multiple wars raging in the Middle East and Africato the unending dispute over land in and around Israel to thegrowing list of countries that claim nuclear capabilities as part of

their arsenals, we have every reason to be vigilant and concerned. However,Alone with a Jihadist:A Biblical Response to Holy Wardetails an approach that is largely untested and wouldrevolutionize international affairs. Can there really be peace on Earth?

Among the concepts detailed by author Aaron Taylor inAlone with a Jihadist: A Biblical Responseto Holy War, are

Zionist theology, which offers a one-sided view of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, spawns violence andruns counter to Christian principles

A multitude of passages in Scripture exist which advocate the philosophy of pacifism for followers ofChrist

Strong arguments can be made against Christian involvement in the government and the military The authors feelings about traditional evangelicals and the way in which his new ideology is being

received by followers of this approach to religion The benefits that honest dialogue can have in breaking down stereotypes and making progress on an

    individual level

Aaron Taylor incorporates extensive use of Scripture and his own travels as a missionary to supporthis position that pacifism should be the path followed by his fellow Christians. Alone with a Jihadistpresents an important analysis of what kind of life is really required by Christians if, as argued byTaylor, they truly want to follow the teachings of the Prince of Peace.

    certainly more to come.

In 2006, Aaron was contacted by a Hollywood production company representative and asked to share his

missionary travels for a feature-length documentary. As part of this endeavor, a meeting was arranged between

Aaron and Khalid for what was certain to be an emotional dialogue between two supposed adversaries. Out ofthat conversation developed a revelation that would alter the future of Aarons life work and purpose.

Aaron believes that working for peace and social justice is essential to a Christians efforts to make disciples.

If only the church would return to its previous dedication to non-violence, Aaron asserts, the impact would be

immeasurable. The details of Aaron Taylors conversation and his resulting belief that Christians shouldfollow the philosophy of pacifism are explained in his new releaseAlone with a Jihadist: A Biblical Response

to Holy War. Through writing that is filled with passion and clarity, Aaron employs Biblical references and asharp knowledge of world affairs to advocate his position. This book will be fascinating both to Christians

who have had their doubts about the just cause of military intervention as well as those who have never before

challenged the theology with which they were raised.

Aaron met his wife, Rhiannon, while they were both students at the Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas,

Texas. The couple lives in New Mexico and is awaiting with excitement the adoption of a baby from Ethiopia.

MISSIONARY AARON D. TAYLOR SHARES HOW ONE

    CONVERSATION TRANSFORMED HIS WORLD PERSPECTIVE

Aaron D. Taylor Uses His New Release to Provoke Discussion about World Politics andHoly Wars

Farmington, MI Aaron Taylor was raised in a charismatic church in the suburbs of St. Louis. Although he

grew up with the conviction that the Christian faith should always be spread through peaceful means, he never

seriously questioned the idea that God is the endorser of American wars. Upon graduation from high school,Aaron began his travels across the globe as a missionary. However, it was not until a conversation with a

Christian-hating jihadist named Khalid nearly a decade later that Aaron had a moment that would

revolutionize the way he approached the Bible and his faith. In his new book, Alone with a Jihadist: A

Biblical Response to Holy War(ISBN 978-1-934466-13-1), Aaron explains his new outlook and his well-researched belief that pacifism is the path to which Christians are called.

In 2006, Aaron was asked by a Hollywood production company representative to meet with an outspokenjihadist in London to discuss their differing world view and theologies. While approaching the conversation

with the intention of converting Khalid to the teachings of Jesus Christ, Aaron found his own views

challenged when asked by his assumed adversary how Biblical teachings should be implemented through thefunctions and duties of government. After much soul searching, Aaron realized that Christianity was not

meant to be prescribed by any government regime, but instead was the charge and message of individual

followers. He returned to Scripture to study the true intention for Christians and came to the conclusion that

following a path of peace is what all believers are commissioned to do.

ThroughoutAlone with a Jihadist: A Biblical Response to Holy War, Aaron Taylor uses specific references

to Scripture in developing his assertion that Christians should not support military intervention or any meansof violence as a way of solving earthly disputes. He has reversed his previous position of support for armed

American intervention in the Middle East, and now states that people cannot be forced at gunpoint

to accept democracy and freedom. He also devotes a great deal of content in Alone with a Jihadist: A Biblical

Response to Holy Warto the notion of Zionist theology, which he believes has erroneously cast an unfairly

biased perspective on the long-standing struggle that exists between Israelis and Palestinians. Aaron instead

offers the promotion of brotherhood and peaceful co-existence that was taught by Jesus Christ.

Jesus made no attempt to use any form of domination or power to try to control other peoples behavior,

shares Aaron Taylor. By imposing our beliefs by force, or supporting those who advocate this cause, we as

Christians are trying to run the kingdoms of this world instead of focusing on the Kingdom of God. Jesus

chose to suffer and die for his enemies, not retaliate against them.

Aaron Taylor hosted a successful book signing forAlone with a Jihadist: ABiblical Response to Holy Warduring the Book Expo of America Convention in New York City in May. Alone with a Jihadist: A Biblical

As I sit to write this book review, President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanhayu have just wrapped uptheir first series of meetings together as world leaders. Among the topics of discussion were the two-state solution to the

Israeli-Palestinian conflict, how to handle the Iranian regime, and other serious issues based in the Middle East. I could not

help but reflect on the intention and possible outcome of these talks through the lens of the amazing new releaseAlone with aJihadist: A Biblical Response to Holy War, written by first-time author Aaron D. Taylor. In fact, much like one conversation

greatly altered Mr. Taylors perspective on global events and the individuals role within them, his one book has led me tointense personal reflection on the relationship between faith and political philosophy.

The bookAlone with a Jihadist: A Biblical Response to Holy War details Aaron Taylors meeting with a militant, Christian-

hating jihadist named Khalid. Aaron, a lifelong participant in his Midwestern charismatic church and active missionary for the

past ten years, entered the cold warehouse in London at which the two were to meet with the intention of converting Khalid to

the teachings of Jesus Christ. Instead, Aaron came away with his own views challenged, particularly concerning the

relationship between government and the advancement of the Christian faith. He transitioned from a belief that aggression

with a religious aim was to be advocated by Christians to a new understanding that Christians are taught through Scripture to

    be pacifists.

Aaron Taylor now shares the message that Christians are to live outside the existing government structures and return to a

focus on the Prince of Peace. Taylor uses a powerful combination of conviction and compassion in detailing this newfound

perspective, about which he writes and speaks regularly.Alone with a Jihadist: A Biblical Response to Holy War includesScriptural references throughout the text to support the view that believers of Christ are not to take arms against those who do

not subscribe to the same ideology, but instead be pure examples of brotherhood. While he ardently believes in the truth he is

sharing, Taylors writing also displays his understanding for those who have not reached the same conclusion. He

acknowledges the teachings of most traditional evangelists, as well as the tragic experiences of many around the world which

make the notion of pacifism a difficult philosophy to embrace, and never belittles or nullifies their viewpoints. With his

background as a former advocate of military force and through his visits to more than a dozen countries, Taylor submits a

resume that makes his arguments worthy of attention and serious consideration.

Alone with a Jihadist: A Biblical Response to Holy War is a book with an impact that lasts well beyond the moment at which

the final pages are read. Through his writing, which is not only passionate but also reasoned and well-researched, author

Aaron Taylor offers all of his readers the opportunity to rethink their entire outlook on war, government, and the role ofreligion. If you are a Christian who has felt conflicted over a countrys use of force in the name of promoting religious

freedom, you will want to readAlone with a Jihadist: A Biblical Response to Holy War. If your religious convictions areunwavering, regardless of your specific mantra, you will be intrigued at how one powerful conversation can shake someones

ideological core. If you simply are a person who considers himself a scholar of history and world affairs, you will find in this

book an excellent addition to your personal library. Anyone who is living in this world in which battle lines are blurred andthe Bible is used by some as a blueprint for military strategy will want to readAlone with a Jihadist: A Biblical Response to

Holy War. Through this work, Aaron Taylor has developed a thesis that, if implemented, would revolutionize individuals and

governments. I look forward to seeing how Aaron will continue to use his one meeting with a single jihadist, a man who wassupposed to be his enemy, to further his cause of peace and brotherhood.

Encounter with a Islamic Extremist Leads Christian Evangelist

Aaron D. Taylor to a Life-Changing, Deeper Understanding of the Bible

Aaron D. Taylor learned the most powerful Bible lesson of his life from the

unlikeliest of sources a belligerent, Christian-hating jihadist.

Raised in a charismatic mega church in Missouri, Taylor rarely questioned theidea that republicans were the pro-God party. He was critical of anyone who

opposed the Iraq war. He never seriously questioned the idea that Christians are

obligated to help Jews reclaim the Biblical Promised Land. And he was absolutelyconvinced that the September 11, 2001 attack in New York was an attempt to

Islamicize the world. He thought the only way Islamic radicals could be dealt

with, apart from converting them to Christianity, was through force.

In 2006 Taylor received a prophecy in Brazil that God would give him a great

victory if hed go to London before the end of the year. He expected this to behis prime opportunity to meet and convert Khalid, a well-known and outspoken

jihadist who lived there. So Taylor, then 28, packed his bags and headed to London with Stephen Marshall, aHollywood production company representative who had recently begun to shadow his missionary travels for a

    documentary.

I wanted to undo negative stereotypes of evangelists, said the New Mexico resident who is an author,

speaker, missionary/evangelist, and founder of the Great Commission Society. In the media culture, evangelists are often thrown into the same category as Islamic extremists. I wanted to show theres a

difference between a Christian who believes in the moral absolutes of the Bible and a Muslim who believes in

the absolutes of the Koran. I was also hoping that I would get through to (Khalid) and help him see the error ofhis ways.

The details and results of that two-day conversation in a cold, abandoned London warehouse would becomethe subject of his book,Alone with a Jihadist. But the unexpected twist is that Taylor was the one to leave theexperience transformed.

Taylor was originally disappointed by his encounter and felt that the earlier prophecy of a great victory inLondon had not been fulfilled. He thought he had failed to be a Christian light after he was unable to keep the

conversation on the path hed hoped. Khalid dominated the discussion from the time Taylor entered the room,

barely allowing him to get a word in edgewise. This belligerence caught him off guard.

I was expecting an intellectual conversation on a theological level discussing the merits of Christian and

Islamic beliefs, Taylor said. I wanted to stay as far away from anything political as possible. I wanted to

discuss the deity of Christ and the cross. But for him it was all about Iraq, Afghanistan, and the completedecadence of western civilization. And, he felt Christianity was the culprit.

Khalid explained that Islam is not a religion, but a pure divine belief.

It has a divine social system, economic system, political system, private system, and a system of what to do

when somebody invades your land and your home.

Jihad (fighting) in Islam protects Muslims around the world. He believed that Americas democracy was

just a manifestation of man-made law.

Then he persistently asked the question that would change Taylors life forever: If you were president of the

United States, how would you implement the Bible from a governmental point of view? Taylor knew thestandard answer that Jesus didn't come to Earth to set up Earthly governments, but to die on the cross for the

sins of the world. However he realized right away that Khalid's moral objection to Christianity couldn't betaken lightly.

Because I know the Biblical Jesus I knew Khalid was on to something, Taylor said. Jesus is supposed to be

our moral example and yet He made no attempt to use any form of domination or power to try to control otherpeoples behavior--like Muhammed did. When I thought about that more deeply I realized that all nations and

political systems--whether they be democracies, monarchies, or dictatorships--are Earthly systems that fall

under the category of kingdoms of this world. They stand in opposition to the Kingdom of God.

After a year of intense Bible study, this new revelation caused Taylor to convert to pacifism, defined as

opposition to war or violence as a means of settling disputes. A crucial distinction, however, between the

Christian form of pacifism that Taylor espouses and various other secular types is he doesnt try to impose iton others or the government.

I dont expect the government to follow Biblical ethics, Taylor said. We can express our political opinion, but I question the validity of Christians pursuing political power to control other peoples behaviors or to

impose a system of government on other people. Christians are supposed to be separate from the world. When

we try to run the kingdoms of this world and live out the Kingdom of God at the same time it causesconfusion. The Kingdom of God always looks like the cross where Jesus chose to suffer and die for his

enemies, not retaliate against them. I dont expect the government to turn the other cheek because no

    government acts that way.

Taylor has found that breaking away from tradition isnt always easy.

Most people have been pretty generous with me, he said. But, there has been confusion with friends andfamily. Its been a difficult road to walk. This way of thinking is so opposite to how most people that I know

think. Im still learning how to communicate what Ive learned.

But Taylor is determined to continue spreading the word about what he learned during his intense two-day

interview with a jihadist. While the initial crisis of faith came through a non-Christian, he has studied it for

himself and found the pacifist position to be Biblical and right.

Aaron D. Taylor is an author, speaker, missionary/evangelist, and founder of the Great Commission Society.

His new book, Alone With a Jihadist, will initially be released at a book signing during the Book Expo of

Reflections on the commentary surrounding President BarackObamas Speech in Cairo, Egypt June 4, 2009

MOST PEOPLE WANT A TWO-STATE SOLUTION,

    SO WHY CANT IT HAPPEN?

When did the constant tension between the Israeli and Palestinian people begin? Some would say that thedispute stems all the way to Biblical times and the tribes created by Abrahams offspring, Isaac and Ishmael.Others believe that the 1917 Balfour Declaration, in which Palestine was granted to Britain as a place to settlethe Jews, was the real starting point to the turmoil. Then, there are those who argue that the lines drawn whenthe state of Israel was established by the United Nations in 1948 constitute the turning point which escalatedthe strife.

Whatever the cause of the division might be, many leaders argue that only a two-state solution will bring anend to the tension between the two groups. However, an agreement to divide the land into two nations iseasier said than done. Whether the views of each side are based in fact or baseless propaganda, the tensionhas led to everything from skirmishes between schoolchildren and farmers to razed homes to deadly missileattacks.

Despite a high level of distrust stemming from both sides of this dispute, the reality shown by multiple polls isthat the majority of both Israelis and Palestinians favor a two-state solution as the best way to resolve, or atleast considerably lessen, the animosity that exists between their peoples. In order for such a compromise to bereached, several factors need to be resolved. Who is the rightful owner of Jerusalem, a city that has suchreverent significance to all three of the major religions in the world? What right do Palestinian refugees haveto the land they were forced to flee when Israel was conceived?

Should Israelis be allowed to keep settlements that expanded into the West Bank? Which government wouldget to lay claim to the natural resources, namely water, that are so prized in that region? Interested partiesfrom across the globe have taken part in numerous meetings in an attempt to put these questions to rest andmove forward with creating a region in which two groups can peacefully co-exist. So far, the peace that has

been brokered has only ever been temporary and has yet to settle decisively the key questions that must beanswered in order for real progress to be made.

While the primary focus of this conflict seems to be on the Muslims and Jews who live in the area, theChristian population in Israel certainly has a stake in the outcome. And, there is no doubt that Christiansworldwide have strong feelings on the matter as well. In the new release, Alone with a Jihadist: A BiblicalResponse to Holy War, author Aaron Taylor recounts his meeting in London with a prominent jihadistnamed Khalid. Taylor, a missionary and evangelist who had long-held beliefs concerning Americas mandateto spread freedom and Christianity, came away from the encounter with a complete transformation in hisworld view. He now holds the belief, based on his reading of the Scripture, that Christians are taught topractice pacifism.

Taylor uses part of Alone with a Jihadist: A Biblical Response to Holy Warto focus on the Israeli-

Palestinian conflict and asserts, with extensive documentation, that the dangerously one-sided Zionisttheology practiced by many fundamentalist Christians within and outside of government is antithetical to thecall for peace and brotherhood made by Christ.
