PROGRAM PURPOSE The entrepreneurship cerficate level program is designed to prepare prospecve entrepreneurs to launch new ventures by educang them in the fundamentals of starng and operang their own business. For entrepreneurs who already have established a business, this program will help them strengthen their business and management skills. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Entrepreneurship is an employment strategy that can lead to economic self-sufficiency. Self-employment provides people and their families with the potenal to create and manage businesses in which they funcon as the employer or boss, rather than merely being an employee. Graduates who want to expand their business management skills further can go on to complete the business administraon associate degree program at NMCC; students may be able to apply 26 of the 32 credits earned toward an AAS in business administraon. ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUCCEED HERE APPLICATION PROCEDURE The following procedures constute the admissions process: 1. An applicaon form must be submied accompanied by a non- refundable $20 applicaon fee. 2. An official high school transcript must also be submied (current seniors’ transcripts should include completed ranking periods). 3. HiSET/GED test scores must be submied by applicants who are not high school graduates. 4. Official college transcripts must be submied by applicants who have aended other colleges or post- secondary schools. 5. Placement tesng or appropriate SAT scores, individual interviews and campus tours are required, in most cases, prior to being admied. 6. Admissions decisions are made as quickly as possible once a candidate’s file is complete. 7. Accepted applicants are required to make a deposit within thirty days of acceptance. Students requesng on campus housing are required to submit an addional deposit to reserve space in the residenal complex. 207-768-2785 6/18
