This is a sector with a huge "Turn Over“ 1 : We initially curb our youth outflow to other sports through an evolutive practice and quality training to meet expectations of our youth 2 : We use external activities to promote athletics and attract new people. in schools, priority neighborhood, with our partners in school sports sphere, etc. These actions are carried out to show young people our managerial qualities and sport facilities. First positive contact with young people in their communities facilitates their joining the club.

• Over the years the club has learned to manage the high-level athletes within the club, the first experience was preparation of Eunice BARBER. We used a special approach, and through this learned how to develop the training of athletes within the club.
• In practice, we assist and train people and develop their potential beginning from the youngest age in the minimal category up to senior athletes. The club has invested in regional federal structures to accompany high-level sportsmen

• The development of this activity is very expensive and funding is not sufficient, so we have chosen to develop additional activities with business partners. It is indeed easier to find a financial partner to accompany senior "sport-health" or "runners" athlete to more or less sporting and festive events, than to find a sponsor to accompany an athlete towards the high level.
• The distribution of tasks between coaches on all our activities allows us to provide them with rather high salaries. Members of the club also make their contribution to this. Thus, we mobilize many "volunteers", members of our sport-health and leisure sections to competitive events of the club.

Athletes do not come looking for a coach, but a spirit, a group with which to run and have a good time. On the contrary it is the audience that still look for specific content, innovation (Cross Fit) and especially entertainment. They want not only a coach, but a facilitator-coach!
• We are constantly adapting and evolving: • Diversification of practical classes
– 2012 : Opening of mid-day (during lunch time) training (Tuesday/Thursday) – 2015 : Opening of new evening sessions (Tuesday/Thursday / Saturday)
• Diversification of objectives : – 2005 : Group trip to the first marathon (repeated annually) – 2010 : Group trip to the first trail (repeated annually) – 2015 : Group trip to the first ekiden (84p) It's a way for us to create a unifying club atmosphere and identity.
• All adjustments are the result of our willing to meet public expectations, stick to the developments in our society (the emergence of new leisure practice), and especially fighting against our difficulty in managing more than 100 people in the same practical class.
Maximum reached on a single session was 124 runners. (also an average of 83 people at the Physical Preparation Training in 2014.

External activities
• Visibility
• Make people aware of our club, but especially of quality and diversity of our activities
• This sector is about partnership and carrying
European Athletics Clubs System and Youth Conference Frankfurt (GER) – 6-8 November 2015
The implementation of our sport-health activities dates from the years 2005, when we found that the already existing activities for adults in the club did not meet their expectations. We had to adapt our practices to meet the demand.
European Athletics Clubs System and Youth Conference Frankfurt (GER) – 6-8 November 2015
• 2000 - Creation of running section without objectif (accompagnying running)
• 2005 - Importation of nordic walking in our club
• 2008 – Week-end wellness section
• 2010 – Development of Health activities
• 2012 – Development of specific activities (handicap)
European Athletics Clubs System and Youth Conference Frankfurt (GER) – 6-8 November 2015
• Nordic walk become one of our famoust activities through differentiated intensity it allowed to adapt practices to the potential of our members. Nordic walk is perfect for people looking for wellness without any competition objectives. Since the last 2years, some are now looking for real performance objectives with arrival of Nordic walk competition.
• This possibility leads us to host three classes recognized by the State in the framework of "network sport-health-wellness" of Champagne Ardenne for patients who are addressed to our club by doctors as part of their therapy. We also work with an Institute that cares for cancer patients. It appears that the practice of regular adapted progressive physical activity helps the people affected by this disease a lot, as several medical publications state.
• For this type of activity the club is supported by the State which grants us financial assistance, we are therefore lower price rates with reserved classes for 8 people maximum in each group. These activities are not "profitable" but are essential to meet our basic principle: everyone can do physical activity within our club.
European Athletics Clubs System and Youth Conference Frankfurt (GER) – 6-8 November 2015
Mot de la fin du président … • Our club over the years has been trying not to anticipate the
evolutions, but to understand them, to stick to the earthly realities, to adapt its operation and events to possible extent, to provide services that will meet the needs expressed by its current and future members.
• We have chosen to refocus on our core values, the heart of our work, that is humanity... Because our activities are human oriented. Being "Humanist", we offer a place of fulfillment for our members who come to spend good leisure time in our club.
• «Merchandising» of the company requires offering a quality service including sports associations, because world trade develops effective products and concepts, which are closer and closer to our ideas.
European Athletics Clubs System and Youth Conference Frankfurt (GER) – 6-8 November 2015
• The techniques of training and competition that have been used for years become “basic tools”. Even they are still required, they have to be completed by new one to succeed: events, listening, group management, communication. These new requirements are not regulatory or legislative, but are even more essential, because they come from us all, our way of living together, our demands.
• They impose a model that undermines the functioning of our associations based on volunteering (existing more than one century). In order to meet our requirements, we need to develop a world of professionals, trained and equipped to meet the demands of the members of our associations. Volunteer are neither removed, nor obsolete, but they cannot meet all the demands.
• To be still effective, a volunteer must continue evolving/learning more and more often, it is the limit of the system. This system limit leads to sharing of tasks and mission between professionals and volunteers in our structures associations without opposing or eliminating them.
European Athletics Clubs System and Youth Conference Frankfurt (GER) – 6-8 November 2015
• This observation, which is pretty basic, therefore calls into question the whole functioning of our structures "clubs", but is carrying a bright future and success stories.
• This finding also questions the economic model of our "associations" or clubs, as quality has a cost to benefit from this virtuous system that is set up. The members will have to understand that their requirements have a price and will change the fees.
