Enrichment Programme
Cycle 2
February 2015 – July 2015
ENRICHMENT - CYCLE 2
30th January 2015
Dear Pupils and Parents/Carers,
Please find enclosed a guide to our Enrichment Programme for Cycle 2 of the 2014/2015 academic year.
This guide is packed full of wonderful enrichment activities that we hope will support your learning at
Bolingbroke Academy and provide you with a variety of skills for your journey through school and beyond.
It is a great chance to try new things and make new friends, improve your skills and have some fun!
Sign-up for this enrichment cycle will take place online. The sign-up website will open on Monday 2nd
February at 6.00pm. Please go to the school website and follow the link on
http://arkbolingbrokeacademy.org/life-school/enrichments. All instructions for selecting enrichments can be
found within the selection website. Parents and pupils should do this together so that they can discuss
appropriate selections and parents can virtually sign off pupils’ choices.
On the back of this guide is a sign up sheet which you can use if you do not have access to the internet.
You may also find this helpful to see the spread of enrichments across the week and to ensure you avoid
any clashes before signing up online. Please return this to Mrs Harris on the morning of Tuesday 3rd
February if you have not been able to sign up online. Forms can be submitted from 8am.
Enrichments will be allocated in the order in which forms are filled in online or handed in - first come, first
served. Allocations will be processed and confirmed before the end of term, ready for activities to start on
the first day after the half-term holiday, Monday 23rd February.
Year 7 will do three enrichments a week – one music, one sport and one other. You should select a
first and a reserve choice for each category.
Year 8 will do three enrichments. You should select three first choice and three reserve choices.
Year 9 will do two enrichments. You should select two first choice and two reserve choices.
Once pupils have been allocated their three / two enrichments based on choices, we will allocate places to
additional enrichments that pupils have expressed an interest in signing up for. Additional choices should be
made in the third column on the website / sign-up sheet. We want to encourage pupils to make the most
of all of the enrichment opportunities that they have at Bolingbroke. However, we ask parents to support
pupils in ensuring an appropriate balance of extra-curricular activities and time for completion of
homework and other out-of-school activities.
If you have any concerns over your choices or would like to discuss the programme further, please speak
to or email your Civitas Tutor in the first instance.
Yours Sincerely,
Mr R Speight
Vice Principal
