    Experiences in a crowded bus

Perhaps you think that a journey in a bus is quite an ordinary procedure, part of the days routine.

Well let me tell you something. A bus ride can be of three types. One; cool, thats hen lady !uck

smiles on you and you get a seat. "o, "ough thats hen, you stand and theres #ery little

breathing space. "hree$ %&!!, thats hen you start to feel like you are in a gas chamber

surrounded by a cra'y mob ith each person trying to make life insufferable for e#ery body else.

(o ) am or more appropriately *as one of those kind ho ne#er get into o#ercroded buses

and tum their noses up in disgust hen they see one. ) preferred aiting and getting a seat to

standing and reaching my destination quickly. When ) joined college ) found quite a fe busses that

    catered to my tastes.

+ut once it so happened that ) missed my usual bus and had to ait for an alternati#e. )t as

getting late and ) anted to reach on time. o ) finally settled for a bus that as comparati#ely

empty. ) bought my ticket ith a jaunty air from the surly conductor and glanced at my fello

passengers. "hey all had that *hy-did you-ha#e-to-pick-this-bus attitude. ) felt slightly affrontedbut soon came to the conclusion that ) as an un elcomed #isitor and this bus as e#idently a

fa#orite ith many ) shuddered in#oluntarily as ) thought of the other horrors in store for me.

Within a matter of seconds the bus as packed and ) found myself sandiched beteen an old

lady and a middle-aged oman hose laughter sounded #ery much like the neigh of a horse. "he

old lady net to me glared #enomously and muttered under her breath. ) ga#e her a eak smile and

    turned aay.

%o ) en#ied the dri#er; he could sit comfortably and dri#e in peace hile the passengers

ground their teeth at each other. %e seemes to ha#e a curious attitude toards his task. %e ould

dash at full speed somehat akin to /ichael chumacher and suddenly stop for no reason at all as

though struck by some thought. 01ou see, passengers neither got in nor out2 )m of the opinion that

he did this on purpose just to see the passengers jostle each other.

+ut hen ) grasped the principal of inertia rather quickly hereas at school my physics teacher

had tried e#ery trick in the book to drill it into my head. omeho it ne#er did sink in. "his first

hand eperience taught me more than any imposition did.

/ore and more people clambered in, ith the conductor #ociferously encouraging them to do so.

) ondered at his /achia#ellian cunningness as he con#inced his passengers that there as plenty

of space, hile in reality there as none. 3ust then my feet ere squashed by a plump lady. (o, alanky youth got in. %is straightened shoulder length hair as streaked ith an appalling shade of

maroon 0hich his stylist ould ha#e labeled as +urgundy2. "he old lady started blaming the

present youth and their life style.

3ust then a strong odour assailed my nostrils. ) choked and spluttered and turned around to catch

a glimpse of a fisheroman ith her basket. he chattered and complained to all the people around

her, ne#er stopping, ne#er anting a reply. ) as beginning ander hether e#er reach my college

    in one piece.

4inally after hat seemed to me to aeons of time but actually only a quarter of an hour ) reached

my college. ) assiduously pushed past the other passengers eliciting many protests. ) turned a deaf

ear to all the complaints and marched on defiantly. /y bone 5 crushing ordeal made me bolder and

iser. ) felt guite triumphant and almost said *6eni, 6idi, 6ici-) came, ) sa, ) conquered.

    Importance of Value Education

6alues are those things that really matter to each of usBBBB..the ideas and beliefs e hold as

special. "hey are principles hich guide mans desires, feelings and actions. A #alue alays guides

us to do the right things and help us to be morally sound. 6alues hoe#er are either innate or

acquired. )nnate #alues are our inborn di#ine #irtues such as lo#e, peace, happiness, mercy and

compassion as ell as the positi#e moral qualities such as respect, humility, tolerance,

responsibility, cooperation, honesty and simplicity. Acquired #alues are those eternal #alues

adopted at ones place of birth or place of groth and are influenced by the immediate en#ironment.

&amples of acquired #alues are ones mode of dress, habits and tendencies.

/an as a social being is obliged to possess social #alues in life. )t is essential for the elfare of

the society. ocial #alues are more or !ess based on religious and moral #alues. /ore and spiritual

#alues include good character, companion kindness, and moral stability, humanitarianism etc. "he

moral #alues present a true perspecti#e of the de#elopment of any society or nation. "hey tell us tohat etent a society or nation has de#eloped itself. &ducation can contribute a lot in the

propagation of moral and spiritual #alues. (oadays our education system focuses only on

intellectual eercise and not on the acquisition of moral and spiritual #alues, this is the cause of

troubles that eist in our society

When e analy'e the present situations in our nation, e can see that many unpleasant incidents

occur, because of the lack of moral and spiritual #alues. /any children commit #iolence and anti-

social acti#ates. One boy killed his classmate, another school boy murdered his teacher, e#en school

childern engaged in seual acti#ites. All these calamities sho the lack of social and moral#alues.6alues can be easily and more effecti#ely propagated through the ducation system.

We knon todays childern are tomorro,s cih'ens. )f e gi#e good education to the present day children,

their future ill be bright. no e are li#ing in the modern century. )f e use science and technology in the

proper ay it is not difficult for us to sol#e the problems of morality, and #aluse. "he main object of study is

to *inculcate moral and #alue based education in schools and colleges and to kno the attitude of

    intermediate students toards moral #alues.

6alues bring quality and meaning to life, hich gi#e a person his identity and character. 6alues also act as

guidelines- they make us reali'e that hat e are is more important than hat e ha#e. 6alue education

Well, because dance and life are synonymous in a lot of ays. "hey both consist of mo#ement and

grasping that hich isbigger than yourself.

youre alays pushing yourself to the net le#el, hile reali'ing that there is no final le#el.

And the same can be said about life. There is not final level, no end goal; the point is to continue

walking on the road and advance while realizing that all the joy, all the living, is in you walking

(living)-not in you reaching "the end.

    3" oo! a% o%hers1 no% yoursel"

As a dancer the mirror is both your friend and enemy. )ts your friend hen youre practicing- and

need to look at yourself, but your enemy hen youre in front of an auidence-and need to look at

other people. What Ngood dancers do, is practice both. 7ood dancers use the mirror to impro#e

themsel#es but also practice dancing ith the mirro equally, for they kno that hen its time to

perform theyre going to ha#e to knon ho to look at others-not themsel#es.

And the same can be said about life. !ts okay to focus on yourself when youre #y yourself and

trying to i$prove yourself, #ut when yourre with other realize that youre they not the only

person arounf and that thy too $atter. %onstantly

    4" rain or all si%ua%ions

)n my style of dance theres a lot of miture of both freestyle dancing and choreogrphy dancing.

"rain for freestyle dancing becaues you ne#er kno hen youre going to randomly be asked to

dance. And rain in choreography because sometimes the occasion calls for ell rehearsed routine.

And the same can be said about life,&ractice #eing rehearsed and spontaneous-

'ecause life is a $iture of the two. o$eti$es life calls for a schedule *a set routine, and

so$eti$es life call for that set routine to #e thrown out the window and for you to $ake choiceson the fly. +ake sure you can do #oth.
