In Russian, Year 1-2 finished the learning about basic vowel sounds. Aliabbas, Kirill, Vlada, Bogdan and Agnia recited funny poems about letters А, О, У, Ы, Э by heart, presenting their fantastic posters to the class. Also all students wrote their first Sound Test with a high score. Well done Year 1 and 2!

Year 5 focused on sounds and learned about soft and hard consonants and symbolic representation of them. Children revised last year phonic rules and made sound schemes on the white board.

Year 10 have made a great start in IGCSE course. Daniil, Aisha and Maria improved their writing skills, describing a famous person with interest and enthusiasm.

«In the last lesson of the Russian 1st language we learned how to correctly describe the appearance of a person on the GCSE course. Each of us printed out a photo of a favorite actor or singer and we made a plan for an essay that we will write on the next lesson» - Maria, Y10

«Today, on Russian lesson we were describing people. I chose Elon Musk, because I think that he is bright, happy and very smart looking person. So it was very interesting to describe him» - Daniil, Y10

In Calligraphy club, Maria, Emilia and Milena made amazing posters, dedicated to the World Food Day. As before, students’ calligraphy works are shown on the display on the right from the Russian room.

On Wednesday (23rd, October) KS4

students visited Moscow Planetarium. They

looked at the exposition in the museum

called “Urania” and then watched the film

“Moving Earth” in the Big Stellar Hall.

The students learned about history of

Astronomy and how exploration of space

was developing, the instruments scientists

use nowadays and used a long time ago in

order to investigate stars, constellations,

comets, planets. What is the difference

between meteorites and asteroids? Why

don’t comets reach our atmosphere? There

was an interesting story of the Moon and

its dark side, the guide explained why the Moon moves in such a specific way.

The film was telling about constellations, their main stars and how we can find our bearings by looking at

them. Also, there was a passage about seasons and how they all are connected with our Earth, why it is

winter whereas it is summer on the other hemisphere.

The students enjoyed the trip and after the film had a great time in the café called “Telescope”.

KS4 Planetarium Trip

Years 4-6 got together today to celebrate our learning this half term in Topic. The students have been independently researching different aspects of life in Ancient Rome, the Stone Age, the Bronze Age, and the Iron Age. They made posters to share their learning, and today they held a gallery where they could share all that they learnt. It was exciting to see the students take such pride in their work, become experts in the area they researched, and become more independent learners.
