Total Care Education System®

ASEP Approach

We believe that international students require priority attention to successfully adjust to their new environment.

When children go abroad to study, they are at an age when their emotional, physical and social needs are at a critical development stage. We approach education in a holistic manner as it addresses students’ Academic, Social, Emotional and Physical (ASEP) needs. This has led to the development of a holistic education system, the ASEP Total Care Education System®.

Our distinctive ASEP Total Care Education System® strives to maximize each students’ potential to be people of Character and develop them into well-rounded responsible Global Citizens.

A nurturing educational environment that provides peace of mind to both parents and students, delivered through four distinct yet inter-related components.

Columbia’s unique Total Care Education System® was created to cater to the needs of international students who live and study away from home. It is built to provide the best quality care and the highest academic standards.

Total Care Education System®- the best education system for international students.

Total Care LEARNING®

Total Care Learning® prepares students to succeed in the North American education system. From day one, our team of experienced educators assess each student’s ASEP needs and design a customized education plan to meet these needs and to foster their success.

Total Care LIVING®

Total Care Living® offers our students a home away from home by providing age-appropriate guidance. Students stay in a safe and comfortable environment where they learn to adapt to North American customs and lifestyle. This independent living fosters their ASEP needs by training them to think independently, make the right choices, and stay focused in order to achieve total success.

TOTAL CARE EDUCATION SYSTEM®

Total Care dEVELOPMENT®

Total Care Development®ensures each student receives a well-balanced education by providing opportunities outside the classroom for students to explore their strengths and build strong Character. As a result, they develop solid ASEP foundations needed to achieve academic excellence and a successful career.

Total Care COMMUNICATION®

Total Care Communication® bridges the vast communicative distance between students and their parents. Whether separated by a country or a continent, Total Care Communication® minimizes this distance by providing modern communication systems that help parents and students stay emotionally connected and support their ASEP needs.

CHARACTER FOCUSEDFor Life & Personal Growth

Character education is embedded in all subjects and is developed in relation to the learning style of students:

As a group, students participate in a social outreach project which is incorporated into educational lessons in all their classes. This project focuses on world issues and challenges students to put Character into action. Students develop Character attributes such as caring, self-advocacy, responsibility, and perseverance as they create seminars and fund-raising events to raise awareness about different issues. " There is no other school in Canada where we get more students, in any one year than Columbia International College.

Over the past 4 years that I've looked back at the data, we've observed the success rate of Columbia students. Their graduation rate is higher than our regular students, which means they go from first year to fourth year faster than our regular students, and we are very, very pleased to see graduation rate data that is as successful as those.

Columbia graduates thrive here, they do well here, they're leaders here and we want more of them."
