FOREWORD

As a sequel to the text, the workbook is intended to come into effect

from the academic year 2017-18. It comprises sections on all the skills of

LSRW, vocabulary and language Use (Grammar).

Each of the textbooks for 8th and 9th has been divided into two volumes

meant to be used on a half-academic yearly basis. Items of LSRW, Language

Use and Vocabulary are spread over keeping in view the ability of diverse

levels of learners at these stages. Whenever and wherever the teacher/facilitator

makes an attempt to go beyond this material like newspapers, magazines, books,

conferences, discussions, it is believed to provide motivation as well as useful

resources.

The activities and exercises are devised to foster all desirable interactions:

student-student, student-teacher, student-material, student-outside world,

leading ultimately to self-learning and self-evaluation. The main principle

behind the frame of the book is guided by Bloom’s Original and Revised

Taxonomy of learning.

The self-learning dominated approach is expected to bring about in

progressively.
