to trick you) is a “lie.”• Everyone write one truth and one lie about

themselves. Make it difficult to guess.

Conditionals

• Verb to LikeI would like to be a dentist

I’d like to be a dentist

Using “would” means that action has not happened yet but it may in the future

The verb To Like indicates that it’s something that you want.

• Pay attention to the pronoun and conjugation of the verb “to be.”

• Pay attention to the use of a definite article a before the noun (a job in this case)

• Or the article an when the job starts with a vowel (a, e, I, o, u)

Lets Brainstorm “Wh” questions for when we meet people.

• Please write these down in your handouts• How to formally greet people in America: eye

contact, initiation, hand shake, tone of voice• I will play music. When it stops please stop

and greet someone and ask a “Wh” question (refer to Unit 1, 3 for help)

• Do not answer with just yes/or no. • Follow up with a “to be” statement:
