1A Aabhichaara

AA - (©) - pronounced as U in the English word up.This is the first vowel letter in Sanskrit and otherIndian languages related to Sanskrit. This alpha-bet has much significance in Astrology, Manthra-saastra, etc. The syllables (characters) in Sanskritare classified into different groups named swaraas(vowels), vyanjanaas (consonants) and vargaas(groups) viz., avarga, kavarga, chavarga, tavarga, thavarga, pavarga, yavarga and savarga. A is thefirst vowel letter in these vargas or groups. In horaryastrology this letter is known as Aadithyaakshara(the syllable of Sun) or Indraakshara (the syllableof the deity Indra). In a hoarary query, when Ahappens to be the first letter of the question put-forth by the querist, it is to be inferred that, since theplanet lord of this letter is Sun and the Sun’s signis Leo, Leo is to be taken as the query ascendant andthe query is answered accordingly. This letter offersanother clue that the subject of query is the querenthimself. In Indian astrology the 27 stars are assignedcertain syllables. A and AA, are assigned to thestar Kritthika / Kaarthika, (3rd star in the order). The practice is that the child born in Kritthika staris given a name beginning with A like Anil or AAlike Aanand. see avakahadaadi, naamanaksha-thraakshara.A.D. - English era.A.M. - Ante meridien, time between midnight andnoon.Aa - (©) - the second letter in vowels (swaraas);the elongation of ‘A’ relates to water. the naama-akshara of first quarter of Kaarthika star . In hoararyAa is considered auspicious, if it happens to be thefirst letter of the first word uttered by the querist.Aabaadhaa - (©LV) - spirits that give trouble.Aabdika - (©u¢r‰®) - annual, which comes once ina year like death anniversary etc.Aabhaa - (©¨) - light, luster, shine.Aabhaasa - (©¨È) - resemblance.Aabharana - (©¨æ_) - ornament; signified by 3rd

and 7th house, Sun and Venus. In horary related todeities, Daevaprasna, the ornament of the deity issignified by 7th house. The transit lord for the solaryear, Samkramapurusha, also wears special orna-ments, when he enters the sign Aries at the start of

the new year. The nature of the ornament worn bythe lord of transit for the year is deduced from thekarana transited by him. see table below. see kara-na.

If the planetindicating black-magic is a benefic planet it isMahaabhichaara; if malefic, it is Kshudra-abhichaara. The purpose of Mahaabhichaara is tokill the opponent by incantation of manthras. InKshudraabhichaara, some substances are buriedunderground or kept in places, where the subjectusually moves so that he comes into contact withthese and get afflicted. The methods ofremedying the kshudra - 1.Add together longi-tudes of the ascendant lord and lord of sixth in thequery chart and find out the sign in which thislongitude falls. Also find which planet joins oraspects this sign. If MercuryChakrahoama is the remedy; If Jupiter Prathee-kaarabali is the remedy; if Venus Pratheekaarabalior Bhootha maaranabali is the remedy; If SaturnPratheekaara bali should be performed. 2.It canalso be inferred from the planet occupying oraspecting the tenth house or lord of tenth house fromaaroodta. 3.If the first letter in the sentence said bythe messenger is a long one, the disease is cured bymusic; if it is short, it is cured by worship and feed-ing; if a combined consonant it can be cured byperforming dance.Who should perform theremedy - If the querist at the time of putting thequestion, looks at rightside and upward direction, the remedies should be performed by Brahmins; ifhe looks down, by temple priests; if looks up on leftside, by the high class among the low class; if helooks down to the left, the inferior amongst the lowborn ones. The lord of Aardra constellation is Raahu and hencethe birth period of people born in this constellationstarts with Raahu dasa followed by the periods,Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Kaethu, Venus etc.General features - Raahu is the starlord and Mer-cury is the signlord for Aardraa born people and sothe combined effects of these two planets will bepredominant in them. They are pure gentlemen andspeak and behave nicely. They mingle with peopleand so others like them very much. Though Mer-cury the sign lord, gives them the intellectualcapacity, the starlord Raahu does not permit theirfull fledged development and so their ability is notfully appreciated as it should be. They are good con-versationalists. Inconsistency and irritability whichare the peculiarity of Raahu makes them intole-rant to other’s views. For Aardra born people Saturnis the lord of the ninth house, the house of fortune, and also lord of 8th house of misfortune. So theirlife will be a mixture of fortunes and misfortunes.Misfortunes will be greater if Jupiter is placed badlyin the horoscope. They are long-lived becauseSaturn is the lord of 8th, the house of longevity. Theyare independent by nature and hence do not like towork or remain under the control of others. They

are prone to false pride and prestige and are averseto obligation from others. Because of the influenceof Mercury they grasp matters quickly and retainthem permanently. Their decisions will be balanced.Mercury is the lord of frequent travels and so theirprofession is generally connected with frequenttravels and during the period of Mercury, the fre-quency of travel will increase. Being born in Geminisign, which is a common sign, they always holdtwo opinions about everything and also will bechanging their views frequently. Mercury being aplanet of speech, they like conversation and talkmuch. They are inclined towards music and somebecome good musicians also. Their tongue is sharpand the language crisp, due to the nature of Raahu.Mercury gives them the ability for good correspon-dence and hence they prove to be good correspon-dents, writers, auditors, liaison officers, publicrelation officers and sales managers. They like pompand show and by these they want to influenceothers. They are not spendthrifts and at times turnto be too lavish as well. If planets are not placedwell in the horoscope, their abilities are misusedand they nurture a hostile mentality with relatives. They turn to be crooked, opportunistic, deceiversand hypocrite. They often write anonymous peti-tions about others to higher authorities. They showmore affection towards children than to parents.Intellectual professions suit them more and so theyshine as teachers, organizers, correspondents etc. They have the special capacity to assess others. Theirpower of discrimination is sharp, and they prove tobe good supervisors. Though they like minglingwith people, they keep aloof from relatives. If Venusis not placed well in the horoscope they are likelyto fall prey to sexual urges and intoxication. Theirmarital life pleasure will be average. If in the horo-scope Raahu is not strong and connected with Mars, they will be short -tempered and easily provoked. If Jupiter is not well placed in the horoscope, theirsexual urge lands them in trouble and often theyindulge in extra-marital bondage. Along with manyqualities, the greatest disqualification is theirindifference and carelessness, which others willexploit. It is well and good, if they are aware of thisweakness. As said earlier they are intolerant andavenging too and so at the opportune moment willtake revenge upon others. Their vision and ideasare big and they seldom pay attention to silly things. They are born-teachers. They reach higher posi-tions in life with their own efforts. If Raahu is posited

in good position in the horoscope they rise to thehighest position in life. But they have to be verycareful about the unique nature of Raahu as heelevates as well as downgrades. It is often seen thatpeople lose everything earned at the end of Raahuperiod. They should play safe with Raahu. SinceMoon happens to be the enemy of Mercury - thesignlord - they are forced to remain away frommother. In one way it is better also because theirbetter half can not be in good terms with mother-in-law because Venus is debilitated in their fourthhouse.
