Step 1: Download files needed

First download the following files:

Yoma AddonSync 2009 (1.28MB)Updated OPX Config Files (7KB)Kegetys' ArmA Tools (243KB) RAF Chinook AddOn (28.2MB)M114 Uparmored HMMWV AddOn (27.9MB)Afghan Village & Avgani OPX Maps (255MB) Save these to a folder on your Desktop.  We'll work with them from there.  Note that you will need WinRAR (64bit also available) installed in order to open these files.

Step 2: Install Yoma AddonSync

Extract the AddonSync2009_Beta1.0.17.7z file to the folder we made on your desktop.  This will create a folder called AddonSync2009_Beta1.0.17.  Enter that folder and double-click on AddonSync2009.exe to start the program.

You'll get an error that some paths are missing if you do not have ArmA I.  This is fine, just continue through.

Verify that your ArmA II path is correct.  Next click the Favorites tab.

From the server tab, fill in the following URL for Auto config URL and click Import Server:             http://caa1.arma-creations.com/yas/caa1/caa1.7z

Verify that it filled in Server Name and Homepage then click the Download addons tab.

From this tab click 1) Check for addons

You'll now see a whole list of red highlighted files on the right and an empty checkbox on the right under the Cancel button.

Tick the checkbox next to +[ ]x to highlight it with a green checkbox then click the 2) Download addons button to begin the download.      That will download 2GB of AddOn files to your hard drive in your ArmA 2 folder.  It should take 30 minutes to an hour or so depending on your connection.  Let it run while we prepare the other files.  Lets minimize the AutoSync2009 program while it runs and return to our working folder on the Desktop.

Unpack supplement files

Next open the opx_avgani15_and_afghanisland10.7z file with WinRAR.  Click into the opx folder.  Select the following folders and drag them into our working folder on your desktop:  Afghan Village 1.0, Avagani 1.5, opxbuildings, opxmisc, opxplants and opxroads.

Enter each of the extracted opx-named folders and copy the and opx*.pbo and opx*.bisign files into your x\caa1\addons folder as we did with the previous PBOs. You will not need the mLODs folder nor the BI License.txt file from opxplants.

Install CPBO tool

Double click on the tools06062009.zip file.  Then double click on the cpbo folder inside the zip.  Then right click on cpbo.exe and COPY.  Then open your My Documents and right click PASTE the file there.

Find the file and double click it (if you're on Vista you'll need to right click on it and Run as Administrator).  You'll get the following error, answer Yes.

This will associate PBO files with cpbo and allow you to open them and create them as you would a normal compressed folder.

Reconfigure map files

Enter the Afghan_Village 1.0 folder and double click on afghan_village.pbo file.  This will open a DOS window and some files will scroll by then a new folder will appear.

Enter the new afghan_village folder.  Find the file name and config.bin and delete it.  Go back one folder so you can see the folder icon for afghan_village and the afghan_village.pbo.  DELETE the pbo file.  Then right click on the afghan_village folder and choose Create PBO.  This will recreate the PBO file without the config.  Drag this new afghan_village.pbo file into the x\caa1\addons folder as we have with all others.

Setup shortcut

By this time hopefully your ArmaSync2009 download will be finished.  If not, pass the time by sitting in the corner and thinking about what you did.  Once all the files are completed and green in the ArmaSync2009 program close it.

Then create a new shortcut on your desktop for ArmA 2.  From the x\caa1\addons folder go up 3 folders to your main Arma 2 folder.  Right click on arma2.exe and choose Send To -> Desktop (create shortcut)
