    WHEREAS, under Section 79 of Presidential Decree No. 1177, dated July 30,1977, as amended by Section 72, Book VI of Executive Order No. 292 or tile(Administrative Code of 1987), the rates of travel allowances may be chanced fromtime to time as may be determined by the Travel Rates Committee created therein;

    WHEREAS, the Travel Rates Committee has submitted to th e President

    recommendations to modify the existing rules and regulations and the a uthorizedtravel ex pen se s fo r loca l and foreign travels; \~i/,

    Claims for payment of travel expenses travel/assignment toplaces within the fifty (50) kilometer radius from the last city ormunicip a lity covered by the Metropolitan Manila Area in the case ofthose whose permanent official station is in the Metropolitan ManilaArea, or the dtv - or municipality wherein their permanent : officialstation is located in the case of those . outside the Metropol itanManila Area, sha ll be allowed only upon presentation of proof, dulysupported by bills or invoices with official receipts of expensesincurred, that they stayed in the place of their assignment fo r tilewhole duration of their official travel . If they commute daily from

    . the pla ce of their assignment to the place of their residence orpermanent official station, they s h a l l be allowed only thereimbursement of actual fare at the prev ailing rates of the \ \author ized mode of transportation from the permanent official \
