Emerging Populations- Correctional inmates and releases

25,000 HIV tests completed in 2006. In 2003, prior to rapid testing, only 6,500 tests were completed#

4.7% of male and 9.7% of female jail admissions are HIV+#

90% of self-identifying HIV+ admissions receive post-release plans with the goal of connecting 90% of those to care**

105 overall (29.7% of males and 23.4% of females) appeared to have previously undiagnosed HIV infection at admission#
