EMBU CAMPUS

Back Ground:

Kenyatta University established an Open Learning Centre in Embu in December 2002. It

mainly served Embu, Kirinyaga, Isiolo, Muranga, Kitui, Mwingi and Meru Counties at

large. The Centre was elevated into a campus in July 2011 and admitted its first part-

time students in January 2012.

The campus already has four modes of study:

Full-time (F.T) mode having;

Diploma, undergraduate and post graduate Programmes

Part-time(P.T) mode having;

Undergraduate and post graduate Programmes

Digital School of Virtual and Open Learning (DSVOL)Mode having;

Certificates, Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes

Institution Based Programmes (IBP) having;

Undergraduate and post graduate Programmes

The campus endeavors to provide quality education in line with the university‟s vision of being a

dynamic, inclusive and competitive Centre of excellence in teaching, learning, research and ser-

vice to humanity.

Location:

Kenyatta university Embu campus is located along Patel road Ghanshayam Building. This is a

serene environment with ample space which provides a conducive environment for learning, study

and growth.

Facilities:

The campus has a fully equipped library with well trained staff. It also has a well-equipped com-

puter laboratory with a number of online data bases that the university subscribes to students and

can therefore carry out meaning research.

Note:

The DSVOL Programmes are designed to allow students to study independently with minimal

tutorial support. This mode of study offers alternatives to qualified candidates who are unable to

enroll in full time residence Programmes
