Elementals Performing Arts Summer Camp 2009 Bulletin July 18 th , 2009 This Week in Review! Attendance record: 11 Coordinators: Kofi, Jennifer and Kathy We have successfully completed 2 weeks of camp…; and now in the process of addressing the program that we intend to share with you for Sunday August 2 nd , 2009 at Kali’s Beach Bar and Restaurant from 3:00 PM. This week was particularly stressful but we all pulled together to make the camp work. On Monday we lost one of our coordinator Chris Elwin, on Tuesday we celebrated Bastille Day, so on Wednesday I took the day to catch up on admin and spend time with my family. On this day we mourn the passing of our dear friend Helen Riche Mace… RIP!!! This week we welcome on board the camp 4 new participants, Tyron-Leroy, Yamina, Yaila and Tatianna. I would especially like to thank Corporal Chief Raymond Louis Fleming of La Pom Piers in La Savane for the workshop on Friday. We also thank Tati Caro and Kali’s for feeding us… well Tati the bill was a little steep; but I loved the atmosphere. Mrs. Shakera Sankies Acuna-Lopez interviewed the youngsters about their experiences at the camp, they will be featured in the Daily Herald next week Wednesday; so pick up the paper and scan the kids section. We now have lots of great photos thanks to photographer Patrick Lambin for info call 0690 760 567 Meet Big Ben and Tour La Pom Pier Acknowledgements Highlights of the week! Location: La Savane Date: 7/17/2009 Meet Big Ben the oldest and still functioning Fire Truck at La Pom Pier! During the visit our Elemental participants were able to touch, feel, dress up in the uniforms and play with the instruments used by fire fighters. They asked questions and watered the garden with a fire hose at the station. After that we all pilled in the Chief’s van and went to lunch at Kali’s Beach Bar and Restaurant. Friar’s Bay Beach and Back…! Safe and Sound! Phew!!! Location: Friar’s Bay Beach Date: 7/10/2009 At Kali’s we enjoyed pizzas and Juices and was surrounded by the media the daily heraold and professional photographer Patrick Lambin. It was nice to see you Mrs. Lopez, Nadia and Kathy you two are great to work with! I cannot thank you enough! Follow this link to view Elemental photos on face book! Wind / Air: (Our Element for Week 3) Location: Pinel Island Date: 7/25/2009 Next Friday we will be sailing to the Pinel Island. Chief Corporal Fleming has promised to join us and we would like to thank Jennifer for organizing this with her parents. Chief Raymond Fleming Thanks for your workshop; we enjoyed ourselves immensely and it was also super of you to join us at the beach for lunch! Angels Insurance Company Thanks for providing us with transportation. Eugene was on time, and very pleasant! The coordinators and all persons participants and volunteers of Elementals, I thank you…! We are blessed to have found such initiative!
