ELECTRONIC TOOLS FOR LEARNINGELECTRONIC TOOLS FOR LEARNING The last unit of our course presented us with

the different tools and applications which can be used in our professional practice.

There are several practical uses for each one of these tools. Based on these electronic media, they have been adapted to my particular class´s needs, contributing both to the teaching and learning experience.

Preparation, motivation and dedication are key to successfully integrate all of these elements.

PRACTICAL APPLICATIONSPRACTICAL APPLICATIONSThe following is a comprehensive list of skills I have developed during the course: Opening a blog, editing it, uploading videos and presentations Downloading Podcasts Creating activities with 4teachers.org templates specifically

using Project Poster Wizard and Track Star Utilizing blinklist to connect my links to others´, and backflipping to save my favorite links and organize them . Opening, editing and doing collaborative work in pbwiki along

course colleagues. Managing RSS Getting to know what mashups and web 2.0 are, as well as

their educational purposes Using slidestory and scribd for online presentations Using picsearch and picasa 2 for image resourcing Resorting to sites such as answers.com and BBC games among

others for students’ independent learning. Organizing an electronic lesson to be presented to my class

using the tools provided.

FUTURE WEB BASED PROJECTS

There are other plans in which I want to apply everything I´ve learnt, for further advances using these tools:

I want to integrate educational video games into my teaching practice.

Would like to try Springdoo and Yackpack

Would like to learn how to use Voicethread for animated presentations.

I would like to create a program which manages most of the applications I learnt during this course.

REFLEXION Web based tools are the upcoming trend in

education. Once we dive into its use and familiarize with them, we may find all of the potential applications it offers to our teaching goals.

Web 2.0, the next step in online technology, is built upon the collective work of thousands of individuals. Interesting on itself, when focused on our learners interests, it provides us with unlimited opportunities for each one of them to find what they are looking for, to learn about it in the way that best fits them.

CLOSING COMMENTS I found this module very interesting and

productive, since it provided me with a collection of web pages and online material that widened my knowledge related to online learning.

It was quite a challenge at times, since I had to first use the tools with my students so I could actually evaluate how successful it was for use in future lessons. Some of the web pages that helped me out creating materials were a bit limited, so I had to elaborate on them based on my own resources to make them attractive.

Immediate feedback after each activity proved very motivating, for I could see my advances and how productive the whole experience was becoming.
