Introduction of an EEG
• They measure the electrical activity in various parts of the human brain and nervous system
• use specialized equipment to test and record electrical activity arising primarily from the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves.
• Usually work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week• They work with as many patients who need helpI Chose this career because I have always been interested with the human brain, and I like helping people.
Nature of Work • Record brain activity• Test brain activity• Maintain the equipment used• help diagnose brain disorders, evaluate the
effects of head trauma, or determine the consequences of severe infectious disease.

Working Conditions• Work in hospitals, sleep centers, psychiatric
facilities, and neurology clinics• Work around 8 hours a day, 5 days a week• About 40 hours a week • They are often on call for evening, weekend, or
holiday work
Training, Qualifications, Advancements•Post-secondary education•An associate degree is often preferred by
employers•Certification is available, but voluntary•hands-on experience through clinical
placements at medical facilities.
