    Education

As a designer I am a product of two very differentschools of architecture. My so far educationmarries the technical nature of architecturaldesign (Bath) with the human-centric ethos ofSheffield.

I regard myself as a hard-working, passionateand commited person. As an architect I see thatour primary role is that of a communicator. Aperson with skills and expert knowledge that isable to articulate these solutions both verballyand spatially.

*ground oor opens up*invites people to come in*scale is bigger than human scale, as to match the industrial scale o the surrounding buildings*it also allows more light to come through t he aade*it is horizontal as to make people walk slower and play with the perspective o the curving street*materiality selected as to difuse light and play a game o shadow th eatre

*polycarbonate will be overlaid with diferent coloured polycarbonate sheets or perorated aluminium sheets to play withlight and colour.

*open to invited guests and students at night, t he night school is the space where discussions on the uture o Ouseburnand other talks, as well as scre enings are held.*matches the context in height*aade is used as a seating area, prompting users to socialise and take ownership o the space*glazing is concealed by a metal mesh screen to contrast the solid look during t he day vs the translucent look at night*space needs to be insulated and moderately heated

*more human scale*need to be insulated and warmer as users will occupy this space or a big part o the day*as this an internal process students undergo to respond to a brie creatively, most o the openings on the aade haveshutters or louvres to make the space more introverted i needed*the shutter open upwards and outwards, hence making the student connect with Ouseburn at least visually.*materiality more natural and warm, using a variety o reclaimed and recycled timber.

*colour is added at the window rame, using road trac signs as cladding.

As the project developed and Iset up the stakeholders, fundingbodies and systems of learning ,I investigated creative ways touse local waste from nearby carservices and factories.

The 1:20 section on the leftand the exploded details of theopenable window shown belowtry to show a possible solution ofusing discarded signs to createrain screen cladding that will beproduced on site, as the visual ofthe internal courtyard shows.

The model was updated through-out the design process as toreach a comprimise between a

very restrictive site, a modularstructure and the defferenctfunctions of the Centre.

Studio 03- Goes neighbourlyAs a member of studio 03 I hadto explore utopianneighbourhood.

We have all collectively workedas a team to define the termsutopia, neighbourhood, andsustainability.

    We all worked together to

create a total vision forStocksbridge, a removed townin socio-economic decline.Several models, collages and aneighbourhood energy strategywere produced to be used asconsultation devics for a multi-disciplinary research projectwhich we were a part of.

I chose to focus makingStocksbridge sustainable bycreating a transport hub at the

gates of the town. The idea ofthe project has since devel-oped into a transport master-plan in the research projectmentioned previously.
