    Edwin John Cardnellknown as Slim

Photograph taken on the day showing our father (unfortunately putting

on a daft smile!) at the borrowed piano.

Our above named father sadly passed away on 23rd March 2012

at the age of 90 and the reason we are contacting you is because

he was involved in the construction of the Royal Festival Hall.

In fact he was the first person to play music there when he

entertained the 700 painters, carpenters and various craftsmen

on a piano borrowed from an LCC canteen and then his

accordion when they had a lunch of salad and beer to celebrate

    wetting the roof.

The occasion was a lead story in the Daily Express on 29th July

    1950.
