Industrial visit was carried out at Adani Port, Mundra on 4th January 2018 and
Vijaya Vilas Palace, Mandvi on 5th January 2018 especially for 6th semester Civil
Engineering Department students. The main objective behind the visit was to make
student aware about how various activities related to import export, port services are
carried out and also about the various traditional concept of construction of heavier
structure to give them feel of site engineer on the port site as soon as they start their
career in future.
We were along with 51 students left for visit at 9 p.m. on 3rd January 2018 and took about
10 hours to cover the distance. Adani Port is located in Mundra in Bhuj city.
As soon as we reached port site on 4th January 2018, we were concern to Mr.
Dharampal who was port entry pass in-charge to take entry pass for port visit at 10:30

Our visit of port site has been started from the Largest Jetty named TS-I. which was the

current scenario of the port. He had also discussed about the Total Amount of Quantity
Exchange from the Port Site, and it was around 100 Million Matric Ton which is equal to
100000000000 kilograms. Adani Port is specially established for the import export
purpose, so that it has also one special name “SEZ – SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE”. From the
port site all the types of Goods are shipped to all over the world. We had also saw the
TUG BOAT on the jetty, which is specially used to take the boat from mid water to jetty
for berthing.
We were visit the storage unit of the container, where the loading unloading of the
container on the storage cargo vessel had been carried out. Loading Unloading had been
carried out by RMQC (Rail Mount Quick Crane), which have transfer rate of 60 Container
per Hour. The highest capacity of that crane was 64 tonnes. Students had also seen the
storage units of Coal, Iron Oxides, Wood, Cars, etc. Coal has been transferred by the
Conveyor Belt to the Adani Thermal Power Plant, which is located 39 km far from North
Gate. At the end of that visit, we had taken a lunch in the Canteen of the Adani Port at
around 02:30 PM with Gopalbhai and their staff. We had leaved the Adani Port from the

of Working Stress Method of Structural Design. It was also the example of effective
planning of the structure, Furniture Arrangement and Architecture. In the stair room,
students had observed that whole staircase has been rest on the single circular column.
There was also one another interesting thing we had observed that, there was only 2 mm
