OBJECTIVES OF THE PROPOSED THREE STREAM MODEL
To implement curriculum offerings which meet the diverse needsof the young people of the country;
To empower learners to be creative and organised system
thinkers;
To promote the acquisition of skills and competencies for a
changing world;
To focus on the foundational skills of reading, writing and
counting (arithmetic);
To improve the quality of and efficiency of learning outcomes
throughout the sector; and
To ensure the parity of esteem by providing for articulation and
portability across the programmes.

Technical Vocational training or a related academic
subject OR
• choose to enter a TVET college to further their
studies in a preferred occupational field.
THE WAY FORWARD – as per DBE BUSINESS PLAN
1. Clarification of a qualification/s –
requirements and conditions (IMTT);
2. Public review of subjects statement;
3. Finalisation of subject statements;
4. Subject statements to be Gazetted;
5. Version Languages into all SA Languages;
6. Translate Subject Statements into Afrikaans;
7. Develop LTSM (English / Afrikaans);
8. Teacher development (Pre and In-service);
9. Norms and Standard; Infra-structure and Human resources;
10. Advocacy.
