edp 279 smartboard lesson plan presentation by garrett jones
TRANSCRIPT
The SMART Exchange lesson plan introduces each basic color’s name, then presents objects of
that color.
AJer this, a picture of an object is
given. The student should then say what color the
object is, prac2cing their color recogni2on
AJer teaching the children this basic knowledge
about color recogni2on, I can ask them to iden2fy something in the room that is a certain color, or ask what colors a certain student’s clothes are!
Now since the students are familiar with the colors through these various ac2vi2es, I can expand their color educa2on in more indirect ways
When picking students to line up to go
somewhere outside the classroom, I can tell
students with a certain color shirt to stand and
walk to the line, reinforcing colors
Since colors are visual, it is a very s2mula2ng topic, and
interes2ng for the majority of young children. Heck, I’m s2ll a HUGE fan of colors (par2ally
why I’m revolving my assignment around it). In
universal design regards, this is a broad topic that can be taught in a large number of strategies, including the SMARTBoard adding a
kinesthe2c learning approach
