Filamatic cappers provide a simple, easy-to-use means for tightening plastic or metal screw caps up to 148mm in size. Ideal for long or short runs, where limited volume does not justify the expense of costly, automatic cap feeding and tightening machines. Portable, semi-automatic and automatic models to suit every cap tightening need.

Hand-Operated Model RB-70 Capacity: up to 70 mm

The Model RB-70 is ideally suited for low budget applications and installations requiring in-case capping. Tightens caps up to 70 mm. Easy to use, even for inexperienced personnel. Simply grasp the handpiece, and lower onto the screw cap. Cap is tightened almost instantaneously. Adjustable clutch provides exact degree of tight-ness desired. Weight of capper is counter-bal-anced by a 20" long tension spring for fatigue-free, effort-less operation. An optional electronic, variable speed control provides finger-tip adjust-ment from 200 to 600 R.P.M. Permits you to select the most efficient speed for each size cap. Powered by a heavy duty, 110-120 volt A.C., 80 watt ball bearing motor.

Hand-Operated Bench Mounted Model Model HU-70 Capacity: up to 70 mm

The Model HU-70 bench model Cap Tightener is designed for short run or production capping of screw type closures up to 70 mm in size. Easy to use even for inexperienced personnel. Simply place the container, with the preplaced cap installed, under the capping head and pull down the hand lever. The cap is tightened to the preset torque almost instantaneously. Adjust-able clutch provides exact degree of tightness desired. An optional electronic variable speed drive provides fingertip speed adjustment from 200 to 600 R.P.M. Permits you to select the most efficient speed for each size cap. Powered by a heavy duty, 110/120 volts, 50/60 Hz, 80 watt ball bearing motor.

Hand-Operated Bench Mounted Model Model RBA-120 Capacity: up to 148 mm

The Model RBA-120 is an air-operated h model, similar to the RB-50, but with a range to 148 ' mm. Ideal for in-case tightening of small or large screw caps. Finger-tip torque adjustment provides exact degree of tightness desired. Sup-plied complete with air line oiler, air line filter, 15 feet of air hose, and variable speed control. Requires 14 c.f.m. of compressed air at 75 to 85 p.s.i.

Semi-Automatic Model AU-60 and Model AU-120

The Models AU-60 and AU-120 Cap Tighteners are bench-top machines designed for short-run or production capping of screw type closures up to 60 mm in size. Easy to use, even for inexpe-rienced personnel. Merely slip the container, with a preplaced cap installed, into the locator. This automatically triggers the mechanism. The cap-.g chuck descends, tightens the cap, and

ms to starting position. Eliminates loose caps uue to off center contact between chuck and insert. The cycle will not repeat until the capped bottle is replaced by another container. Torque adjustment provides exact degree of tightness desired.

Single Cycle Operation The Filamatic Models AU-60 and AU-120 Cap Tighteners incorporate a single stroke mecha-nism that operates only when the bottle is properly positioned under the chuck. An elec-tronic controller provides fingertip speed adjust-ment from 400 to 600 R.P.M. Permits you to select the most efficient speed for each size cap, at the touch of a knob. Powered by a heavy duty, 120 watt, back-geared motor coupled to an adjustable clutch. Mounted on a chemically re-sistant Benelux plastic base. Supplied complete with air filter, regulator and lubricator assembly. For use on 110/120 volts, 50/60 cycles A.G. Requires compressed air at 75 to 85 p.s.i. and 0.10 c.f.m.

Semi-Automatic Model AUA-120-2 Capacity: up to 148 mm Tightens two caps simultaneously. Equipped with two 1 /4 H.P. air motors. Requires 28 C.F.M. of compressed air at 75 to 85 p.s.i.

Automatic Cap Tighteners (Less Conveyor) Model ACTM-70 Capacity: up to 70 mm The Model ACTM-70 Automatic Cap Tightener is designed for use with any model Filamatic Automatic Filling Machine. Easily adapted for use with your own 4" or 4 1 /2" wide, in-plant conveyor bed. Installs on the discharge side of the Filamatic Filler. Available also with integral conveyor. Installed on a welded steel base cabinet, caster mounted for easy portability. Bottle indexing mechanism adjusts easily for any size container. No costly feed screws or star wheels to replace. Finger tip adjustment permits you to select the most efficient chuck speed for each size cap. Production rates up to 45 per minute. Multiple heads available for increased production. Adjustable clutch provides exact degree of tightness desired, For use on 110/120 volts, 50/60 cycles A.G. current and compressed air at 75 to 85 p.s.i. and 0.10 c.f.m.

Model ACTM-120 Capacity: up to 148 mm The Model ACTM-120 is an air-operated, auto-matic cap tightener, similar to the ACTM-70 above, but with a range of 148 mm. Equipped with an adjustable speed air motor and torque adjustment that provides exact degree of cap tightness desired. Production rates up to 45 per minute. Multiple heads available for increased production rates. Supplied complete with 15' of hose and air line filter-regulator-lubricator. For use on 110/120 volts, 50/60 cycles A.G. current and 14 c.f.m. of compressed air at 75 to 85 p.s.i.

How It Works The filled container, with a preplaced cap in-stalled, is automatically transported to the cap-ping station by the conveyor. An indexing mech-anism clamps the bottle and positions it under the capping chuck. The capping chuck de-scends, tightens the cap and retracts. Torque adjustment provides exact degree of cap tight-ness desired. After the cap is tightened, the bottle is released and is replaced by the next container.

Note: The Model ACTM-120 is available in an all air-operated model ACTA-120 for explosion-proof operation.
