Case Study: Sally Charlton Biddick I chose my course because I like all sciences but preferred not to take them as separate Alevels; this is also a great course because there are no exams at the end of the year. I enjoy doing the experiments in class i.e. titrations and mixing the solutions. You will improve mathematic skills and precision skills. The facilities are excellent with great staff teaching in them. I wish to go into the geology field and science helps with that If you have a desire to work in the scientific field then this may be the course for you. The applied science industry sector offers huge potential for learners interested in lab – based work and in areas such as renewable energy, space, low carbon, pharmaceuticals, utilities, automotive, agrifood and bioscience How will you be assessed? There are no exams. Students submit a portfolio of evidence for each unit. This is assessed internally by teaching staff and externally moderated
