Message from Trustee
“Our students must work with all of their might, but at the same time, employ every bit of
intelligence they possess to ensure smart work.”
It is imperative for our young creators to hold an understanding of the art of working smartly than
working hard. It saves an improbable amount of time, drastically accelerating the rate of the
outcome. Along with smart work, one must invariably endeavor for excellence in each task they
engage themselves in. Because excellence is the signature of leaders and a trait that is must to be
incorporated in our pedagogy. It is also essential to design sustainable projects that last a lifetime
using sustainable resources. Because the sincere efforts which our students put into making a
project, deserve to be retained for a long time to stand as an instance for the younger ones who
follow.
December, the last month, sums up the entire year for us with priceless memories and invaluable
experiences. We lately had a splendid celebration of ECHO MAKE, where we saw a beautiful
amalgam of all the four dimensions of Sunita's Makerspace. Mentors and makers were also excited
about participating in creative events such as Kala Ghoda, Indian Art Festival, Maker's Mela and
preparations were in full swing for Christmas celebration, too. It fills me with tremendous joy to
observe our volunteers actively participate in Surat's 1st sports festival for differently abled.
Now, as this year comes to an end, let's take all the good experiences of this year and embrace a
new year with open hearts. I wish all, a happy and a fruitful new year.
With best wishes

Message from Principal
December is the time when we introspect and see what could be the areas of improvement for the
better upcoming year. This is the time when we make strategies for the next year to make it a better
one. Keeping the above in mind we have started planning for the coming session.
The upcoming three months are very crucial for the students as well because, these are the months
when they have to pull up their socks and get ready for their finals. In March 2018, we also have
our AS Level Examinations. Mock Exams for the same are going on and will continue till February.
Being serious and focused is very important for a successful life but at the same time celebrations
also play an important role in an overall development of a human being. Keeping this into
consideration we celebrated Christmas Day with full enthusiasm and zeal. We also celebrated
Sports Week wherein children displayed their sports skills and understood the value of being sporty
and having healthy competitions.

Geography Field Trip
Field trips serve as one of the vital functions so far as education is concerned. Field trips link the
classroom experience with the outside world. In doing so, they not only improve learning, but it
also gives both the learner and educator valued practical experience.
We conducted the Geography field trip for grade VI and VII and the students were taken to the hill
at Sarigam. This particular filed trip visioned at improving their knowledge base grounded in the
classroom concerning physical features of hill, near settlements and other findings like wind speed,
wind direction , soil erosion, etc.
The students actively participated in investigating the wind speed by an anemometer, wind direction
by wind vane, humidity check by hygrometer and nearby settlements from the height. Further,
group of students also tried to measure the percentage slop of hill by calculating the vertical
distance and horizontal distance.
Students affirmed that the trip to hill was a tremendously optimistic experience for them.

The event witnessed enthusiastic preparation and participation. The teams comprised of four

The format of the quiz entailed three rounds for each Team A (1-3), Team B (4-6), Team C (7-9),

Sports Day
Gold medals aren’t really made of gold. They’re made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-
find alloy called guts.
‘Sports Week’ is an annual event, to encourage participation and as part of our commitment to
delivering high-quality PE and sports across the school.
The importance of sports and games in school encompasses more than just the benefit of physical
activity. Increases in self-esteem and mental alertness make school sports and games necessary for
every school age child.

Christmas Celebration
Christmas is a festival of joy and happiness, celebrated every year on 25th
of December.
The Christmas tree is decorated by artificial decorative material like stars, lights, flowers, balloons
and toys etc. Santa Claus is a symbol of friend of the children. He comes in the night to every
house and gives gifts to all the children. Children eagerly wait for this day and Santa’s gifts.
Christmas day is a day of merrymaking and joy.
Unity in Diversity
Our golden and olden days, are teaching us the concept of ‘Unity in Diversity’. We, the Laxmi
Global School, got a chance to prove our secularism towards ‘Our India’ by celebrating
CHRISTMAS... the season of love, forgiveness and giving.
Our students, celebrated Christmas, with all its festivity and gaiety by presenting Dance, Carols and
Skit behind the Christmas’ origin.

Cosmetic Making Workshop
Cosmetic products are in high demand in the market. Homemade cosmetic products are of high
quality and have no harmful chemicals. Laxmi Global School offered an opportunity for making
cosmetics, to those students who wish to create and learn the skills of something, not only beautiful
but useful too. Whether one wishes to learn these crafts as a passionate hobby or convert it into a
profession it is very handy.
The cosmetic product making workshop helped in teaching the students to make toiletries from
organic raw materials, using emulsifiers, surfactants, preservatives and oils. Thus, the workshop
truly helped students to go for real time practical understanding of various methods of cosmetic
making.

“My Dying Conscience”
Sometimes in the dark of the night
I visit my conscience
To see if it is still breathing
For it’s dying a slow death
Every day. . . .
When I pay for a meal in a fancy place
An amount which is perhaps the monthly
income
Of the guard who holds the door open
And quickly I shrug away that thought
It dies a little. . . .
When I buy vegetables from the vendor
And his son “chhotu” smilingly weighs the
potatoes
Chhotu, a small child, who should be
studying at school
I look the other way
It dies a little. . . .
When I am decked up in a designer dress
A dress that costs a bomb
And I see a woman at the crossing
In tatters, trying unsuccessfully to save her
dignity
And I immediately roll up my window
It dies a little. . . .
When at Christmas I buy expensive gifts
for my children
On return, I see half clad children
With empty stomach and hungry eyes
Selling Santa caps at red light
I try to salve my conscience by buying
some, yet
It dies a little. . . .
When my sick maid sends her daughter to
work
Making her bunk school
I know I should tell her to go back
But I look at the loaded sink and dirty
dishes
And I tell myself that is just for a couple of
days
It dies a little. . . .
When I give my son the freedom
To come home late from a party
And yet when my daughter asks
I tell her it’s not safe
I raise my voice when she questions why
It dies a little. . . .
When I hear about a rape or a murder of a
child,
I feel sad, yet a little thankful that it’s not
my child
I cannot look at myself in the mirror
It dies a little. . . .
When people fight over caste creed and
religion
I feel hurt and helpless
I tell myself that my country is going to the
dogs
I blame the corrupt politicians
Absolving myself of all responsibilities
It dies a little. . . .
When my city is choked
Breathing is dangerous in the smog ridden
city
I take my car to work daily
Not taking the bus or train, not trying car
pool
One car won’t make a difference, I think
It dies a little. . . .
So when in the dark of the night
I visit my conscience
And still find it breathing
I am surprised
For, with my own hands
Daily, bit by bit, I bury it. . . .
