The grade awarded to a student in any particular course will be based on his/ her performance in class work, attendance, seasonaltests, tutorial tests, home assignments, laboratory w ork, viva-voce exam ination, main examination, etc. The letter grades that can be awarded & their equivalent grade point are listed below:-

Process of Evaluation: The performance of the student will be evaluated in terms of cumulative grade point average (CGPA) which is the grade pointaverage for all the completed semesters at any point of time. The CGPA id calculated on the basisi of all pass grades, except auditcourses, obtained in a ll completed sem sters, provided that there are no F,G,AF,X grades.

(Number of Credits x Grade Points) for courses with pass grade except audit courses.SG PA = -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note: SGP A will be calculated for each semester individually. CG PA will be calculated by taking average of SGP A of both the semesters in academic year.

Pass G rade is Grade D and higher grades.Grade F is fail Grade. F Grade: The F grade denotes poor performance, i.e. failing a subject (or subject component).A student has to reappear in thesem. Exam only in which he/she obtains F grade, until a passing grade is obtained, within a stipulated time of completion of thatprogram as m entioned in the ordinance. For the elective sub in wh ich f grades have be en obtained, the students macourse or any other course from the same category/group. The candidate will be allowed to take up the exam next time along wi thregular students but he/she will be awarded up to B+ only. The sam e principle will be applicable to project also.

G grade: If any student who is otherwise eligible for appearing in semester examination as per ordinance, but he/she is unable toappear in the semester exam than he/she will be awarded G grade. The candidate will be allowed to take up the exam next timealong with regular students and he/she will be awarded the grade as per grade system explained above and the restriction ofawarding a m aximum of B+ grade will not be app licable in his/her case. The same principle will be applicable to t

AP/AF Grade: These grades are awarded to qualifying/ non credit subjects (as per scheme supplied by the department). The

candidate will not be eligible for the aw ard of the degree w ithout qualifying theses courses. Continuous absence: If a student is continuous absent from the department for more than four weeks without intimation to thechairperson of the department, his/her name w ill be struck of from the roll of the departmen t. The readmission shallthe candidate during the sam e academ ic session.

X Grade : This grade is awarded for incomplete project work/dissertation as per guidelines given below and will be converted to aregular grade on the com pletion of the project work an d its evaluation. A student who is unable to complete his/her project/dissertation may be awarded an X grade by the chairman/chairperson on therecommendation of his/her supervisor. Student who has been awarded X grade shall be required to formally register for the n extsemes ter and pay the requisite fees.
