主真復活了！The Lord has truly

been raised!

就在那一天，他們中，有兩個人往一個村莊去，村名厄瑪烏，離耶路撒冷約六十「斯塔狄」。他們彼此

談論所發生的一切事。談話討論的時候，耶穌親自走近他們，與他們同行。他們的眼睛卻被阻止住了，

以致認不出他來。耶穌對他們說：「你們走路，彼此談論的是些什麼事？」他們就站住，面帶愁容。

一個名叫克羅帕的，回答他說：「獨有你在耶路撒冷作客，不知道在那裏這幾天所發生的事嗎？」耶穌

問他們說：「什麼事？」他們回答說：「就是有關納匝肋人耶穌的事。他本是一位先知，在天主及眾百

姓前，行事說話都有權力。我們的司祭長及首領竟解送了他，判了他死罪，釘他在十字架上。我們原指

望他就是那要拯救以色列的。可是──此外還有：這些事發生到今天，已是第三天了。我們中有幾個婦

女驚嚇了我們；她們清早到了墳墓那裏，沒有看見他的遺體，回來說她們見了天使顯現，天使說他復活

了。我們中也有幾個到過墳墓那裏，所遇見的事，如同婦女們所說的一樣，但是沒有看見他。」耶穌於

是對他們說：「唉！無知的人哪！為信先知們所說的一切話，你們的心竟是這般遲鈍！默西亞不是必須

受這些苦難，纔進入他的光榮」嗎？他於是從梅瑟及眾先知開始，把全部經書論及他的話，都給他們解

釋了。當他們臨近了他們要去的村莊時，耶穌裝作還要前行。他們強留他說：「請同我們一起住下罷！

因為快到晚上，天已垂暮了。」耶穌就進去，同他們住下。當耶穌與他們坐下吃飯的時候，就拿起餅來，

祝福了，擘開，遞給他們。他們的眼睛開了，這纔認出耶穌來；但他卻由他們眼前隱沒了。他們就彼此說：

「當他在路上與我們談話，給我們講解聖經的時候，我們的心不是火熱的嗎？」他們遂即動身，返回耶

路撒冷，遇見那十一門徒及同他們一起的人，正聚在一起，彼此談論說：「主真復活了，並顯現給西滿

了！」二人就把在路上的事，及在分餅時，他們怎樣認出了耶穌，述說了一遍。

今年是「青年年」，我想藉此機會，向我們

堂區的所有青年講出一些心底話，希望他們每

一位都能明白，他或她都是教會的無價之寶。

相信大家都不會忘記教宗方濟各在 2015 年

第三十屆世界青年日文告裡的話，他告訴你

們每一位：「要有勇氣去成為有福的人。」

他又說：「在基督內每個嚮往美善與幸福的

渴望都會被成全。唯獨祂才能滿足你們最深

層的渴求──但往往被世俗不實的承諾所蒙

蔽。」教宗稱你們每一位為「珍貴的寶藏」，

你們不單有能力去愛和被愛，但也可能被貶

抑、摧毀和糟蹋。

你們有幸獲得耶穌召叫，成為祂教會的一份

子，並担當祂的使者。因此我邀請你們所有

人，抽點時間去學習並體驗基督，去做一個

天主教會的積極成員，跟他人分享自己的恩

賜——喜樂、熱誠，並樂於服務他人。

千萬不要因為自己參與了堂區生活，就理所

當然的以為自己現在甚至永遠都是教會的一

份子。雖然你們大多數人都參與了不同的團

體，像耶穌青年會（Jesus youth）、聖母孝

女會、輔祭會、主日學小導師等，但我知道有

些青年卻因為不同的原因而遠離了教會。我

希望向他們呼籲，也跟你們分享福音的喜樂。

耶穌接觸過不同的人，我特別想跟你們分享

瑪竇福音十九章中富少年的故事。富少年的

問題：「我該行什麼『善』，為得永生？」

引我深思。因為富少年擁有許多產業，所以

後來憂悶的走了。使他來到耶穌跟前的，其

實是另類的財富——青年的財富。青春本身

就是無價寶，青春是發掘潛力，安排、抉擇、

放眼將來，第一次自己下決定的時刻。正是

青春這份無價之寶，把那位少年領到耶穌跟

前，並促使他為自己整個生命的計劃提出問

題。「我該行什麼『善』，為得永生？」我

該做些什麼，才能讓自己的生命富有圓滿的

價值和意義呢？這個問題，對青年來說至為

迫切，青春的價值也在這些問題中表露無遺。

對那些長期飽受痛苦，在困難家庭和特殊社

會境況下生活的青年而言，這個問題又別具

意義。用今天的講法，我們可以這樣說：「我

要怎麼做，生命才有意義和價值呢？」耶穌

基督的答案將是：「除了天主一個外，沒有

誰是善的。」只有天主才是所有價值觀的根

本基礎，只有祂能為我們人類的存在賦予終

極意義。

跟青春和生涯規劃有關的問題，重要而不可

或缺，希望你們能好好辨識，相信你們將會

體會到福音中「耶穌定睛看他，就喜愛他」

究竟有甚麼意義。願你們經驗到如此的面容！

也願你們能體會到基督以愛來注視你們的真

締！

「主耶穌基督！你甘願降生成人，由在母

胎中到受難死亡，一直為我們忍受着無限痛

苦……請紀念你在最後晚餐中為你的門徒洗

腳，並將你的聖體和聖血賜給他們，就在你

安慰他們的同時，你便預言你將受的苦難。

請紀念你在心靈感到憂傷和苦痛時，你說：

『我的心靈憂悶得要死。』請紀念你在那神

聖的逾越節晚上，在被釘十字架前，你軟弱

的人身承擔着極大的驚慌，苦惱和痛苦，你

滿身血汗淋漓，一而再，再而三地向天父懇

切祈禱；到最後，你的門徒猶達斯把你出賣

了，將你交給那個你要舉揚的民族手中；經

過三次不公平的審判，你終因假見證的誣告，

而被定罪。請紀念你被面罩覆蓋，被無情毆

打，並被肆意摧殘，在一片嘲笑聲中，更被

惡人剝去衣裳，他們公然地侮辱你，以紫紅

袍作你的華衣，以茨冠作你的冠冕，以蘆葦

作你的權杖；那時候，你被拳頭所擊傷，被

侮辱所壓倒。在他們肆意的侮辱、唾沫、拳

打、鞭撻，與及一些聞所未聞的殘酷折磨下，

你飽受恐懼和悲痛。請紀念你被猶太人釘在

十字架上時，他們毫不憐惜地以又大又鈍的

釘，猛擊在你神聖的手腳上，眼見你所受的

苦楚，未能飽呈他們的獸性，他們竟不惜擴

大你的傷口，增加你的痛苦，更慘無人道地

胡亂扭動你的身軀，以致四肢關節都被他們

拉脱脫了……。」

以上瑞典聖女聖畢哲（St.Bridget）禱文

的部份內容，提醒我們耶穌基督犧牲自己，

為我們被釘死在十字架上。感謝天父的憐愛，

把祂的聖子賜給我們，救贖我們，我們也應

效法聖子耶穌的榜樣，在團體、家庭、社會

上多作犧牲。無論祈禱或陪伴身邊的人，

都需要我們付出時間和耐性。祈求天主賜我

們力量和愛心，努力不斷，在團體內犧牲自

己，為他人服務，貢獻教會。

此外，參與彌撒聖祭也十分重要。每一次參

與彌撒聖祭，就是重溫耶穌基督由最後晚餐

到聖死和復活的和平行動。我們領受耶穌基

督的聖體，這是何等親蜜的契合！祂歷過聖

死與光榮復活的身體，象徵了愛和犧牲，跟

祂的聖體相結合，能夠加強我們對天國永恒

生命的信、望、愛三德。感謝天主賜給我們

聖子耶穌，祂不但救贖我們，還留給我們最

好的禮物——彌撒聖祭。願大家都能好好參

與彌撒聖祭，善領聖體，在日常生活中實踐

愛和犧牲，幫助更多兄弟姊妹認識耶穌基督，

加入教會。

歡迎兩位堂區司鐸

神父訪問

本堂主任司鐸布尊和神父與助理主任司鐸方

慶霖神父，已於 2018 年 2 月 1 就任。堂

區通訊的記者跟兩位神父作了一次訪談，以

下簡單介紹一下兩位新任神父。

布尊和神父來自非洲的剛果民主共和國。剛

果曾是比利時的殖民地，大約有一半人口是天

主教徒。布神父出生於一個天主教家庭，小

學畢業後，十二歲就進了小修院，踏上了晉

鐸之路。離開修院之後，他用了兩年時間來

探索將來的方向，最終選擇了做傳教士。布

神父隸屬聖母聖心會（CICM），這個在比利

時成立的修會因著它的國際傳教工作而著名，

而早在 1862 年創立時，會祖南懷義神父正

好有著「向中國人傳報基督的喜訊」的理念。

布神父於 2003 年以修生的身份來港，是首

批獲派來港的非洲傳教士之一。布神父最初

在天水圍聖葉理諾堂工作，並在該堂區晉陞

為執事，其後獲派往柴灣海星堂工作，並於

2006 年 3 月晉鐸。

方慶霖神父來自菲律賓，家鄉在 Negros

Occidental 省，是在菲律賓中部靠近宿霧的

一個島上。方神父出生於虔誠的天主教家庭，

在十個兄弟姐妹中排行最小的。他們幾乎每

天都參與彌撒，在這樣的氛圍下成長，他和

兩位姐姐都加入了修會。方神父同樣隸屬聖

母聖心會（CICM），2014 年，還是修生的

方神父獲派香港。他最初在柴灣海星堂工作，

有不少接觸和練習中文的機會，並在海星堂

晉陞為執事。其後獲派往聖老楞佐堂協助牧

民工作，並於 2017 年 10 月晉鐸。神父來

港後才開始學習廣東話，他自言這是個很大

的挑戰。儘管如此，因著努力，他已於三月

初開始用中文舉行平日彌撒了。

謹代表大埔堂區的教友歡迎兩位神父，願天

天主教聖母聖心小學

恩主教書院

本校第二十六屆運動會於二月六日在大埔運

動場舉行了。當天，學校邀請到聖母無玷之

心堂新主任司鐸布尊和神父於開幕禮中帶領

祈禱，祈求運動會能在一片和平友愛的氣氛

下順利進行。當天雖然天氣寒冷，但無礙一

眾運動健兒發揮體育精神，看台上觀眾的熱

情打氣亦令氣氛升溫，使每人都全力以赴參

加比賽。

劉偉傑校長在閉幕頒獎禮中，提到運動會並

非只求一決勝負，而是提供機會讓同學發揮

才能，善用天主所賜的「塔冷通」，透過競

技去學習，培養團結、合作、體諒、包容、

友誼等正面思想，這才是運動會的真正意義。

其後，張樂天神父帶領結束祈禱，整個運動

會也就圓滿結束。是次運動會能夠順利進行，

是靠著天主的助祐，及有賴各位老師、校務

員、家長、同學們的付出的。

當天全場社際及啦啦隊冠軍均由「信」社奪

得。雖然冠軍只有一個，但其他健兒也沒有

氣餒，因為大家都體會到「友誼第一，比賽

第二」的精神。

第二十六屆運動會

中六畢業祈禱會

本校畢業祈禱會於二月九日在禮堂舉行，主

題為「思源」，邀請了張樂天神父主禮。張

神父在講道時，勉勵同學離開中學生活後，

在生活中不要迷失。雖然沒有身邊的老師提

點，但要記得天主的教導，隨從聖神的引導

而行事，去結聖神的果實：仁愛、喜樂、平安、

忍耐、良善、溫和、忠信、柔和、節制。

各班的同學代表輪流分享。回顧校園的生活

點滴，感激老師的扶持照顧，感恩能遇上一

起分享喜樂與分擔憂愁的同學。同學真摰的

分享令人感動，希望大家珍惜彼此建立的情

誼。

賀校長、家長教師會主席方太分別致辭。他

們鼓勵畢業同學在感到無力時，緊記耶穌基

督會一直伴隨他們，甚至背起他們，如沙灘

上的足印主角般，向前邁進。

最後，畢業同學從張神父、校監吳律師、賀

校長和方太手上接受了代表祝福和心意的禮

物──祝福咭、地鹽世光十字架、學校的領

帶夾。願中六畢業同學在眾人的祝福下，能

邁開堅定的步伐，朝自己的理想邁步血前。

「我是善牧，我認識我的羊，我的羊也認識我。」( 若 10：14)

感人的故事，天主的奇蹟善會信仰小品

廿七年前，格普尼神父邀請我擔任送聖體員，他

解釋說：「聖體員將耶穌帶到有需要者手上，是

一種愛德和服務他人的工作。」我沒多考慮，就

接受了他的邀請。廿七年間，我經歷過很多感人

的故事。

兩年多前，我透過服務認識了一位住在老人院，

患了栢金遜症，且因中風而動彈不得的羅伯，我

只知道他有妹妹和一個女兒。有一次送聖體給他，

拿起的手教他劃十字聖號，卻發覺他整隻手藍藍

瘀瘀的。他突然用僅餘的力氣捉着我的手說：「好

驚，好驚！」我懷疑他受虐了，便告知譚永明神

父。譚神父很關心，除了請聖母軍幫忙，也走訪

多個社福機構找社工幫忙。

那年九月，我家裡有事發生，便把羅伯的事交給

神父跟進。直到同年十一月突然接到他妹妹傳來

短訊，說羅伯病重住院，請我和堂區料理後事，

他們不理了，我立即致電歐陽神父趕往傅油。趕

往醫院途中，我向歐陽神父問了羅伯的情況，神

父說雖已傅油，但不樂觀。到了病房，只見羅伯

閉目戴上氧氣罩不理我，我明白了，就將自己家

中發生之事告訴他。他立時睜開眼，眼淚從眼眶

掉下來，抖動嘴唇問我情況，我便告訴他沒事了。

我離開醫院，坐車回家，透過車窗，憂悶地凝望

天上，祈求慈悲的天主憐憫他。縱使他曾做了很

多錯事，但求天主讓他在彌留之際，可跟家人說

聲對不起，從而互相和解。我便拿起手機，傳了

個短訊給他妹妹。一天、二天過去了，沒有回應。

到了第三天，奇蹟出現了！羅伯的妹妹傳來短訊，

說會和家人前往探望。他們多年的積怨終於得到

化解，最後家人還替羅伯辦了後事。

只有慈悲和憐憫人的天主臨在，奇蹟才會出現。

非常務送聖體員供稿

今次，我打算介紹一個善會。但先問一下：在

主日，除了神父外，還有甚麼人可以站在祭台上

服務呢？是輔祭？是送聖體員？他們都可以。可

是這次我想介紹另外一個能在祭台上服務的善

會——「聖言宣讀組」，也就是大家經常稱作「讀

經組」的善會。要成為聖言宣讀員，說難不難，

說容易也不容易。我們不一定都有一把美妙的聲

音，不過一定要發音清晰；我們不需要有脱表演慾脱，

但需要有一顆愛主的心。

在彌撒中，我們不是為表現自己的朗讀技巧，而

是透過天主所賜的聲音，來傳達祂的話語。作為

天主的麥克風，我們不時在常會中，舉行「粵音

正讀」的環節，以糾正宣讀員在讀經時常犯的語

音錯誤。我們明白自己並不完美，但我們仍然務

求做到事事準繩，甚至精益求精。

宣讀員站在讀經台上讀經，肩負的是一項神聖的

任務，目的是讓人聆聽天主的話。當明白了這個

使命後，我們便要時刻保持一顆謙卑與愛主的心。

常會中的培育環節，正是我們親近聖言的時刻。

神師和組員透過研習聖經及分享討論，認識天主，

希望能更肖似天主，更愛天主。另外，我們亦願

意效法真福雷永明神父的芳表，熱愛聖言、勤習

聖言、服務聖言，肩負傳播福音的使命。

讀到這裡，你覺得成為一位聖言宣讀員困難嗎？

對於本人來說，困難不困難並不重要，最重要的

是用心服務，給天主一個交代，不要辜負天主的

恩寵。

第一位教宗—

聖伯多祿

寶寶，你知道第一位教宗是誰嗎？

可是，他約

在公元 66~67 年，

尼祿王迫害教會時，

被判以極刑，在羅馬

被倒釘十字架主殉道，

葬於梵蒂岡山，即現今

聖伯多祿大殿之下。

雖然他三次不認我，但他的信德驅使他公開宣認

自己的信仰。我把天國的鑰匙交付給他，並要他成為

教會的磐石。伯多祿從此被賦予了掌管

天國和地上教會的權柄。因此，

教會常以兩條交叉的鑰匙代表

伯多祿和他的繼承人的

宗座職務。下一次，我再跟

你娓娓道來他的小故事吧！

根據新聖教法典的授權，逢星期五信友可免守小齋，但須踐行愛德或克己善工。

齊為青年祈禱「青年年禱文」介紹

為配合以「青年、信德與聖召辨識」為主題的 2018 年世界主教會議，香港教區決定把 2017

年將臨期第一主日，到 2018 年基督君王節為止的禮儀年，定為「青年年」。為此，夏志誠輔理

主教特別撰寫了「青年年禱文」，全文如下：

全能仁慈的天父，求祢降福青少年，

讓他們在祢的愛內成長，

能夠明辨善惡，持守真理，勇於承擔，樂於分享。

願他們在困難中，獲得祢的支持和助佑，

在徬徨時，體會祢的慰藉和陪伴。

主啊！求祢幫助他們，

去回應祢給他們每一個人獨特的召叫，

在生命中發光發熱，活出豐盛的人生。

因主耶穌基督之名，

求祢俯聽我們的祈禱。

細讀禱文，大家也許會發覺禱文是以「他們」來稱呼青少年的。當然，這篇禱文中的「他們」

也能改作「我們」，來讓青少年為自己祈禱；但是既用「他們」，可見這篇禱文本來不是給

青少年的，而是讓成年教友為青少年代禱用的一篇禱文。

只要拿「青年年禱文」跟 2018 世界主教會議的主題來作比對，就可發現「青年年禱文」的內容

正正反映了「青年」、「信德」、「聖召辨識」三個重點。「聖召」固然有其狹義——成為神父、

修士、修女的修道聖召。廣義的「聖召」則不僅限於修道，結婚、獨身都是聖召，或者應該說，

不同的生活方式都有其意義和價值，都能完成、回應天主在的召喚。「有了如此眾多而豐富的

得救方法，無論何等身份與環境，每位教友都被天主召喚，遵循個別的途徑，走向成全的聖德，

勉效天父的成全。」（梵二《教會憲章》11.3）所以「聖召辨識」就是去領會天主的聖意，

以回應天主給我們每個人獨特的召叫。

青少年對未來充滿憧憬，同時也不免感到迷惘。這是我們成年人都曾經經歷過的。我們為青年

祈禱的同時，也應幫助他們逐漸認清自己獨特的聖召，更要鼓勵他們積極回應天主的召叫，懷著

信德、愛德、望德，奮勇向前。

Meet our new Parish Priests

Rev. Fr. Pfuti joined our Parish on Feb 1, 2018 as Parish Priest. He comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Congo was once a colony of Belgium and about 50% of the population is Catholic. Fr. Pfuti comes from a Catholic family. After Fr Pfuti finished primary school, he entered a minor seminary at the age of 12 and prepared himself for vocation to the priesthood. He then spent two years to explore his vocation and finally decided to devote his future to missionary work. Fr. Pfuti belongs to the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Scheut Mission (CICM). CICM has a special relationship with the Chinese community as Fr. Theophile Verbist, who established the mission in 1862, committed himself totally to the ideal of “preaching the faith to the Chinese people”. Fr. Pfuti came to Hong Kong as a seminarian in 2003 and is one of the first batch of African Priests in Hong Kong. He was initially appointed to work at St. Jerome’s Church at Tin Shui Wai where he was ordained as Deacon. He was then appointed to work in the Star of the Sea Parish in Chai Wan where he was ordained as Priest in March 2006.

Rev. Fr. Francis Vergara Mahilum joined our Parish on Feb 1, 2018 as Assistant Parish Priest. He comes from the Philippines and his home town is in the Province of Negros Occidental which is an Island in the middle of the Philippines, close to Cebu. He is the youngest of the ten siblings in the family. His family is a devout Catholic and they attend mass almost daily. With this bring up, he and two other sisters joined the religious orders. Fr. Mahilum belongs to the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Scheut Mission (CICM), established in Belgium, which is notable for their international missionary work. For this reason, Fr. Mahilum was sent to Hong Kong in 2014, initially as a seminarian. He was initially assigned to the Star of the Sea Church in Chai Wan for exposure and to practice the local language where he was ordained as Deacon. He was then appointed to St. Lawrence Church as a pastoral worker and later ordained as priest in October 2017. While he is in Hong Kong, he started to learn Cantonese which is quite a challenge for him. Nevertheless, with his hard work, he started to hold weekday mass in Chinese since early March.

English Speaking Community

It was a great honor and opportunity for the English Speaking Community to have a Healing Rally on January 13 & 14, 2018. Facilitated by the Oasis of Love Community (Cebu, Philippines) where around 50 from Saturday and 60 from the Sunday group attended the event.

As l have served in the IHMP for 13 years, and devotedly followed the Church formation program through the years. It is here where my spiritual maturity has deepened. However, being once a head servant of a Charismatic community in Cebu and an affiliate of PACEM (Pastoral Assistance and Community Education Mission), I longed that one day; IHMP community would experience a spiritual reformation operating the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Mysteriously I sensed God's plans going forward in this direction. Last year, we completed the HOLY BIBLE MARATHON PROGRAM AND THE LCSC.

This year, Father Jay Flandez SVD (Chaplain of FILIPINO OFWs) introduced us to a healing rally seminar, facilitated by the OASIS OF LOVE COMMUNITY (Cebu) -- Tatay Dodong Limchua.

It was an amazing experience, especially for me because I knew Tatay (for a long time) already as a holy and gifted person, but, had not met him personally until January 13, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish.

He spoke of his life, how he was being touched and healed by God from his lavish worldly life to a spiritual life. He had a heart attack, 27 years ago, with a very slim chance of surviving. But he miraculously survived. He is in good physical condition nowadays even, at the age of 76.

The session culminated with a "pray-over-healing prayer" where all of us rested in the spirit (we all laid flat on the floor).Personally, I sensed deep healing in my physical and spiritual life as well. Tatay then gave me some Holy Oil to use whenever someone needed healing. So far, I have already laid hands on 4 persons (including my 2 grandchildren), all of them experienced miracle healing.

While vacationing in CEBU, I was slated to pray over another 2 patients with grave illnesses. I told them to undergo first the sacrament of reconciliation (confession) prior to my visit before I can facilitate such.

In the end, THE HEALING RALLY EXPERIENCE brought us all to a higher level of spirituality. Living life praising God at all times.

On behalf of the Community I thank God for His grace for this event where we could feel His presence in the Healing Rally.

I joined the Choir in the first week of December, 2017.Being a choir member f or the Saturday English community, I have made a lot of changes in my life, by being a member of the choir; it has helped me so much. I have learned a lot of songs in the past year here in Hong Kong. I couldn't imagine that my dream before when I was 12 yrs old has

come true, it was simply too hard for me. Nothing is impossible if you believe in God. Now I know God, l can continue to follow my dream; learning to play the guitar is my simple desire. Thank you Lord, for giving me this opportunity. Hopefully, one day, l will be able to use this for you, Lord God and to help other people too.

In my spiritual life, I now believe; love is most important of all. . . . God is Love. If we have been feeding daily on God’s word, it's natural to feel "Hungry” if we skip our

PERSONAL SHARINGquiet time, but, if we continue to neglect it, we may lose all desire to study the scriptures, that’s why we continue to study the bible and always put the truth in our minds and hearts. I believe if we lose our taste for the bread of life, and we confess our negligence and ask God to revive our appetite for His Word; He will restore in us the desire to continue studying the scriptures. Confession is the best medicine for all sins.

In the choir you will notice that I am happy to serve, singing to the Lord and to the people attending mass.To our Parish church, I would like to say: Thank you, so much, for feeding me a holy message from God during every mass. Without you, I would never know about the holy words of God, God sending His people to teach us how spirituality is important in our lives. . Thank you once again.

It helps me to boost myself on how to be open and cooperative to others. My Spiritual life, I have gained more courage and I can meet all challenges, because I know God is always with me. I became a reader in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in 2017. I attend the 8:45am Mass every Sunday.

When I heard the Parish announcement for recruiting new ministry members, I went down to the Tea room, l saw the list and registered to become a reader/commentator. I received a message the following week confirming that l could become a reader/commentator.

Being a ministry member has helped me to develop myself and become a better person. I have more self confidence too.When it comes to Spiritual life, I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit every time I attend the mass. It teaches me to become a stronger person and to value the word of God.

The best feeling I have, is I'm happy and feel great, for every member who cared about me; the time I had my personal problem. They gave me good advice and helped me to solve it.

My message to our Parish is: I thank them because they changed my life in a moment! I do believe in the saying, “that a prayer is a strong wall and fortress of the Church” it is a Godly Christian weapon.

She was elected Assistant coordinator of the IHMP English Speaking Community, and actively supported Andrea Owen and the core group in facilitating the activities of the church.

In summary, she helped so much in the growth of the IHMP. Because of this, we thank Lea for her exemplary contribution out of Love. We will never forget you Lea. Wherever you are, rest assured that you are in our prayers.

I have known Lea for a long time as we worked for the same company in the Philippines -- TMX PHILS INCORPORATED. She was a production supervisor and I was a technician. Time evolved and we were assigned to work in a foreign place. She was based in TIMEX HK office, and I am in the CHINA office.

Through the years, I kept inviting Lea to join IHMP community. Thankfully, in 2014 she said "YES, for God's glory", joining the SATURDAY GROUP. Lea is a very talented and gifted person, and with her presence, I sensed the dynamism of the group moving to the next level. Here are the transformations we experienced inspired by her through the guidance with the Holy Spirit:

1. Strengthening the leadership structure of the Saturday group, where she served as the Education Committee.2. M e n t o r i n g a l l t h e m i n i s t r y l e a d e r s t o a c t professionally in their field of work assignments.3. She served as an ambassador to the Sunday group - improving the communication line and ties of the Saturday and Sunday group. 4. She served as the contact of Father Jay Flandez SVD (OFW chaplain) where we experienced various catechism classes from Father Jay himself.5. Guidance councilor of the Saturday group.6. She was one of the incorporators of the Legion of Mary and once the Vice President.7. She introduced the Mesa De Gallo.

WELCOME TO FR. SYLVERE AND FR. FRANCIS

At the beginning of February Fr. Sylvere and Fr. Francis joined us here in Tai Po; Fr. Sylvere as our new Parish Priest, and Fr. Francis as Assistant Parish Priest, and on Sunday 18 February, at our regular monthly birthday lunch, we held a welcoming party to greet them.

Fr. Jean Sylvere Mbuela Pfuti was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, sometimes called Zaire, and came to Hong Kong some 15 years ago. He now joins us from the Star of the Sea Parish in Chai Wan where he was the Parish Priest for the past 7 years

Fr. Francis Vergara Mahilum was born in the Philippines and was Ordained only 3 months ago.

So, we say “Bienvenu” to Fr. Sylvere and “"Maligayang pagdating sa aming parokya" to Fr. Francis with a big and hearty welcome from the Immaculate Heart of Mary English Speaking Community; we hope you will be very happy here and may God bless you both.

YOUTH - THE TREASURE OF THE CHURCH As this year is dedicated to, “Young People”, I take this opportunity to write a few lines to all the young people of our parish and let each one know that he/she is precious to the Church. I am sure you all have not forgotten the message of Pope Francis for the WYD, where he told

each one of you to “have the courage to be happy”. He continues further, ‘in Christ you will find your every desire for goodness and happiness. Christ alone can satisfy your deepest longings, which are so often clouded b y d e c e p t i v e w o r l d l y promises’. For this reason, the pope calls each one of you the “precious treasure” for you have the ability to love and be loved and to be debased, destroyed and or spoiled.

You are f ortunate to be called by Jesus and to be part of His Church and his mission. Therefore, I invite all of you to give your time to learn and experience Christ so that you become more active members of the Catholic Church, sharing your gifts of joy, zeal and service for others.

Your participation in the parish life cannot be taken for granted as you are, and will always be part of the church. Many of you are involved in different groups like Jesus youth, Children of Mary, Alter Servers and Junior teachers in Sunday school. I know that there are some young people who have distanced from the church for many reasons. I would like to appeal to them and to each one of you to share with all the joy of the Gospel.Among Jesus’ meetings with different persons, in particular, I want to share with you all the story of “The Rich Young Man” which you will find in Mt.Chapter 19. I am inspired to reflect on the question of the rich

young man, “What must I do to inherit eternal life? We know that the young man went away sad because of his attachment to worldly riches. But it was riches of another kind that had led him to Jesus, the riches of youth. Youth itself is a treasure; it is the time of discovering the potentialities of being human, and also of organizing, choosing, foreseeing, and making the first personal decisions. This treasure of youth led the young man to Jesus and made him ask those questions

that concern the plan of the whole of life. “What must I do to inherit eternal life?”. What must I do so that my life may have full value and full meaning? The treasure o f yo u t h i s m a n i f e s te d i n t h e s e q u e s t i o n s ; f o r these questions are most urgent for the youth. These questions are asked in a special way by those young persons who have long been weighed down by suffering, or by difficult family or

social situations. We can also put into the language of

our times as, “How must I act so that my life will have meaning and value?” Christ’s reply “No one is good but God alone,” only God is the ultimate basis of all values; only he gives the definitive meaning to our human existence.

It is my hope that, after you have made the discernment of the essential and important questions for your youth, for the plan of the whole life that lies before you, you will experience what the Gospel means when it says: “Jesus, looking upon him, loved him.” May you experience a look like that! May you experience the truth that he, Christ, looks at you with love!
