Online Orientation Course
o Beginning spring semester 2010 all EGCC Online Users are required to complete a free Online Orientation Course.
o This is to help the user become more familiar with the online course experience and is available as long as the user is an EGCC student.

o There is a little arrow in the middle of the left of the screen.
o If this is chosen the Course Content will NOT be available.
o Click on this arrow and the menu will appear.

In the event of the system going down when submitting an assignment Do not type assignment in the text editor box, instead type it into a Word Document first and save this to my documents
and then copy and paste the assignment into the text editor. *This will help prevent any work from being lost.

Highlight content by clicking and dragging the mouse.

Creating a Rich Text Format File (RTF)
The instructor may request that the user submit their work in a RTF file.
o Open the program the user will use to create the document
o File, then save as.
o Select save in

o Save as type: select Rich Text Format

1. Click Create Forum (this is to start a brand new thread)
How to reply to a thread
1. Choose the thread for that week’s assignment/s and click on it
2. Then select reply. This will keep the discussion within that thread.

Pay special attention to the directions/instructions. Many tests are timed with only one submission. Be prepared before starting the quiz/test; it cannot be stopped unless otherwise noted.

The message/email will only be for within the online course in which the online user is enrolled. Email will be accessible to only the instructor or any classmate in that particular course.
