LITTLE LUTHERAN BAGS
Each Sunday your child may pick up a colorful bag from the pegs on the stair-way wall to the left of the sanctuary doors. Use what’s inside, take coloring pages with you and return the bags at the end of service.
QUIET ROOM There are two rooms at the back of the sanctuary. Room B (on the right) has
chairs and tables, but no toys. Room A (on the left) has a few quiet toys, books and seating.
TO PARENTS WITH YOUNG CHILDREN
First, please relax and enjoy your time here. God put the wiggle in chil-dren, so please don’t feel embarrassed by it. Your children are welcome
at Lutheran Church of the Lakes. As a matter of fact, you may wish to sit toward the front where it’s easi-
er to see and hear what’s going on. Our pastor has his own young ones
and won’t be easily bothered. What goes on here promises to engage
your children—not all at once, but little-by-little every week.
As we go, softly point out and explain what you see and hear. Encourage them to chime in on their parts: Amen! Thanks be to God! Our Father… All of that belongs to them too.
Be sure to sing the songs, to pray and say your parts too. Your children
learn by following your lead.
If you need to leave the service with your child, feel free to do so. There is a quiet room for use whenever necessary, but please come back! Like Jesus, we want your children in their Father’s house, not out.
If you need a little help, just ask. There are lots of folks here who will
lend you a hand. Don’t be too surprised if they offer!
While you are caring for your children, the rest of us will be rejoicing in Jesus’
words, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these” (Luke 18:16) and remembering that we are all as lit-tle children before God, or ought to be.
Your children are not only a gift to you, they are a gift to the church, so we will do our best to welcome, encourage, help and bless you all. Welcome to Lu-theran Church of the Lakes!

Easter Scriptures
Christ Jesus abolished death and brought life and immortality
to light through the gospel.
Lutheran Church of the Lakes 547.4261 www.lcol.org [email protected]
Then Moses and the people of Israel
sang this song to the LORD, saying, “I
will sing to the LORD, for he has tri-
umphed gloriously; the horse and his
rider he has thrown into the sea. The
LORD is my strength and my song, and
he has become my salvation; his is my
God, and I will praise him, my father's
God, and I will exalt him. The LORD is
a man of war; the LORD is his name.
Pharaoh's chariots and his host he cast
into the sea, and his chosen officers
were sunk in the Red Sea. The floods
covered them; they went down into
the depths like a stone. Your right
hand, O LORD, glorious in power,
your right hand, O LORD, shatters the
enemy. In the greatness of your maj-
esty you overthrow your adversaries;
you send out your fury; it consumes
them like stubble.
At the blast of your nostrils the wa-
ters piled up; the floods stood up in a
heap; the deeps congealed in the
heart of the sea. The enemy said, ‘I
will pursue, I will overtake, I will di-
vide the spoil, my desire shall have its
fill of them. I will draw my sword; my
hand shall destroy them.’
You blew with your wind; the sea
covered them; they sank like lead in
the mighty waters.
Who is like you, O LORD, among the
gods? Who is like you, majestic in
holiness, awesome in glorious deeds,
doing wonders?
EXODUS 15:1-11
1 CORINTHIANS 15:1-11
Now I would remind you, brothers, of
the gospel I preached to you, which
you received, in which you stand, and
by which you are being saved, if you
hold fast to the word I preached to
you—unless you believed in vain.
For I delivered to you as of first im-
portance what I also received: that
Christ died for our sins in accordance
with the Scriptures, that he was bur-
ied, that he was raised on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures, and
that he appeared to Cephas, then to
the twelve. Then he appeared to more
than five hundred brothers at one
time, most of whom are still alive,
though some have fallen asleep. Then
he appeared to James, then to all the
apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely
born, he appeared also to me. For I am
the least of the apostles, unworthy to
be called an apostle, because I perse-
cuted the church of God. But by the
grace of God I am what I am, and his
grace toward me was not in vain. On
the contrary, I worked harder than any
of them, though it was not I, but the
grace of God that is with me. Whether
then it was I or they, so we preach and
so you believed.
MARK 16:1-8
When the Sabbath was past, Mary
Magdalene, Mary the mother of James,
and Salome bought spices, so that they
might go and anoint him. And very
early on the first day of the week,
when the sun had risen, they went to
the tomb. And they were saying to
one another, “Who will roll away the
stone for us from the entrance of the
tomb?” And looking up, they saw that
the stone had been rolled back—it
was very large. And entering the tomb,
they saw a young man sitting on the
right side, dressed in a white robe, and
they were alarmed. And he said to
them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek
Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified.
He has risen; he is not here. See the
place where they laid him. But go, tell
his disciples and Peter that he is going
before you to Gali-
lee. There you will
see him, just as he
told you.” And they
went out and fled
from the tomb, for
trembling and
astonishment had seized them, and
they said nothing to anyone, for they
were afraid.
