Hundreds of thousands of animals have died in East Africa during the current drought.
For pastoralists in East Africa, animals aren’t simply a source of food and milk – they’re living banks, the main assets that people own. When their animals die, pastoralists don’t have the means to feed their families.
“I tie rope around my stomach, and then I drink hot water. That is how I cope with hunger”
Ayapan, north-west Kenya

The rains in November were normal in most parts of East Africa, and humanitarian aid is
making a difference to millions of people.
But there are still critical shortages of food in many areas.
Please keep all those affected in your thoughts and prayers.
