    1. Interval Dictation

Every interval is played 3 times.

The first 12 are played simultaneously, the last 8 one after another.

When the intervals are played simultaneously, you have to write down the upper interval note.

If they are played one after another, you have to write down the second interval note.

    2. Scale Dictation

Every scale is played 3 times.

If necessary, add accidentals to the relevant scale notes.

Existing accidentals must not be changed.

The scales in this dictation are either harmonic minor, melodic minor, mixolydian b9/b13 or any of the scales derived fromthe major (ionian) scale.

    4. Rhythm Dictation

Your time available for this dictation is 5 minutes.

You must not listen to the audio-track more than once.

    3. Melody Dictation

Your time available for this dictation is 5 minutes.

You must not listen to the audio-track more than once.

For finding the starting pitch you need to hear and identify the tonal center of this melody.

    5. Triads & Inversions

Every triad is played 3 times.

1 point can be achieved, if the quality ( major. minor, augmented or diminished ) of the triad is correct.

1 other point can be achieved, if you write down the correct inversion type (root position, 1st inversion, etc.) of the triad.

    6. Seventh Chords and other Four-Note Chords

Every chord is played 3 times.

Every chord is played in root position.

You have to write down a chord symbol which is common in popular music ( C7, CMaj7, Cm7...).

Exept one chord, all chords in this exercise are derived from the major scale system.
