Guest Lectures
Lecture on “New Developments in Organic Electronics ”
An expert talk on “New Developments in Organic
Electronics” was organized by Department of
Physics on 3rd
September , 2015 with an objective
to provide an excellent knowledge in the field of
Organics Electronics. We liv in an electronic world.
Economic, health, and national security rely on and
are positively impacted by electronic technology.
However, the resources and methodologies used
to manufacture electronic devices raise urgent
questions about the negative environmental
impacts of the manufacture, use, and disposal of electronic devices. The use of organic materials
to build electronic devices may offer a more eco-friendly and affordable approach to growing
our electronic world. Moreover, and some would say more importantly, organic small molecules,
polymers, and other materials afford electronic structures unique properties impossible to obtain
with silicon alone, creating untold potential for novel functionality. However, the field
of organic electronics is in its infancy with respect to devices on the market. Realizing the vision
of organic electronics as a more innovative, accessible, and sustainable approach to growing
our electronic world will require overcoming key research challenges. Chemists, physicists, and
other scientists and engineers engaged in organic electronics research representing India, China,
Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States have visions for the future
of organic electronics and to offer research recommendations for advancing the field in a way
that will maximize its potential positive impact on society.
More than 150 students and 25 Faculty member of various department of Lingaya’s University
attended the talk delivered by Prof. P.K. Bhatanagar Prof. Bhatanagar served twice as Head of the
Department and also as Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary and Applied Sciences (F.I.A.S.) at
University of Delhi South Campus. Presently he is UGC-BFF-BSR Fellow, UGC, New Delhi, He has
several International collaborations under Indo-Japan, Indo-USA (NSF), Indo-Singapore Project
under DST, New Delhi Research Schemes.
The entire session was full with a new innovation in the field because of its extra ordinary
advantages in Electronics daily life as well modern gadgets such OLEDs, Boi-Sensors and various
devices.

Guest Lectures
Lecture Organised by Department of Mathematics
On 21st April 2015, Department of Mathematics organised a Guest lecture by Dr. R.K. Sharma,
Professor and former head at the department of Mathematics, IIT Delhi on Cryptography. He has
guided fifteen Ph.D. thesis and more than 55 M.Tech. projects. He has published more than 80
research papers in international journals. He has developed some web courses also under NPTEL
program. The lecture was on “Mathematics of Cryptography”. It was a very interactive session in
which students as well as faculty members took a great interest. The way Dr. R.K .Sharma
explained the theory behind cryptography by relating with story of some chachi’s murder,
increased the interest of the audience. He also shared his life experiences with the people and
encouraged them to do research in the different fields of mathematics. Dr. R.K.Sharma was so
proficient in his subject that the audience wanted to grasp more and more knowledge from him.
In the end Sharma sir also appreciated and felt obliged for calling him to our university for the
guest lecture.
Lecture On “Nanomaterials For Energy ”
The emergence of the nanotechnology arrives just in time when the issues of energy crisis and
global climate change become a major problem. In the past people were sure about the future
shortage of fossil fuels but skeptical about the climate change.
Developing sources of sustainable energy is a crucial challenge for the 21st century.
Nanotechnology may contribute paradigm-changing approaches to energy technology, because
many energy conversion and storage processes occur at interfaces and surfaces, which are
abundant in nanomaterials.
With this objective to explore more knowledge about nanomaterials a guest lecture on
Nanomaterial was organized by the Department of Physics on 22nd
June, 2015 for the Faculty
Members of various departments of Lingaya’s University. Prof. B. R Mehta, Professor of Physics
and Schlumberger Chair Professor of Semiconductor Physics at Indian Institute of Technology ,
New Delhi, was invited to deliver the lecture. He had been the Centre of knowledge during the
discussion session . Faculty Members as well as Students of various stream such B.Tech
(Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Comm. Engineering), B.Sc. (H) Physics, B.Sc. (H). Chemistry
and B.Sc. (H) Maths enjoyed the session with a potential discussion with the key speaker Prof.
Mehta. A vote of thanks was given by Prof. G V Ramaraju, PVC, Lingayas University.
