ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR CRISTO REY PARISHIONERS /AVISOS A TODOS LOS PARROQUIANOS DE CRISTO REY
As of March 5 we will be celebrating Mass everyday. Sunday Mass will be during regular schedule, 10am & 12pm will continue streaming online. Sunday Mass will be celebrated in the regular schedule, and the 10am & 12pm we will continue Live-Streaming.
GUIDELINES TO ATTEND MASS:
1. Only 120 people will be able to attend each Mass.
2. People that are sick or vulnerable participate in Mass from home.
3. Follow the social distancing recommendations both inside and outside the Church. Maintain at least a 6-feet dis-tance between individuals from a different household at all times.
4. Everyone must wear a face mask and gloves. You will only take the mask off to receive Holy Communion.
5. Please use hand sanitizer or wipes before and after Mass.
6. As a preventive measure, we will not be distributing missals during mass.
7. The FRONT DOORS will only used to enter the Church. The side door will be exits at the end of Mass.
8. The offering baskets will not be passed during mass. Please deposit your donation in one of the baskets located at the Church exits. Please mail or take to the Parish Office you weekly donation or online: https://www.austincristorey.org/give

INDICACIONES PARA ASISTIR A MISA:
Solo podrán ingresar por Misas máximo 120 personas.
Las personas enfermas o en riesgo de contagiarse participe en la Misa desde su casa.
Siga las recomendaciones de distanciamiento social dentro y fuera de la Iglesia. Mantenga una distancia de por lo menos 6 pies entre personas que sean de otra familia en todo momento.
Todos deben de usar un cubrebocas y guantes. Solo se quitará el cubrebocas para recibir la Sagrada Comunión.
Por favor de utilizar gel antibacterial o toallitas antes y después de Misa.
Como medida de prevención, no estaremos distribuyendo misales durante las misas.
Solo se usaran las PUERTA DE ENFRENTE de la Iglesia para entrar a la Iglesia para Misa. Las puertas al los lados del altar se usaran de salida al final de la Misa.

FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
Every year on Ash Wednesday the liturgy repeats these severe words to us: “Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return.” If it were up to me, I would immediately remove this formula from the liturgy.The Church now rightly allows it to be replaced with another formula: “Repent and believe in the Gospel.” Taken literally, without the necessary explanations, the words of the other formula are the perfect expression of modern scientific atheism: Man is nothing else than a heap of atoms and, in the end, will return to being a heap of atoms.
The Book of Qoheleth (also known as Ecclesiastes), a book of the Bible that was written during a time of religious uncertainty in Israel, seems to confirm this atheistic interpretation when it says: “All go to the same place; everything was made from dust, and to the dust it shall return. Who knows if the life-breath of the children of men goes upward and the life-breath of beasts goes earthward?” (3:20-21). At the end of the book, this last terrible doubt (Is there a difference between the end of man and beasts?) seems to be positively resolved, because the author says, “The body returns to dust but the spirit returns to God who gave it” (12:7).In the last writings of the Old Testament there emerges the idea of a recompense for the just after death and even a resurrection of the body, but the content of this belief is still quite vague and is not shared by all. The Sadducees, for example, reject it.
We can evaluate the words that begin this Sunday’s Gospel against this background: Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be.”
These words are the Christian response to the most disturbing of human questions. Death is not — as it was at the beginning of the Bible and among the pagans — a descent into Sheol or Hades where one becomes a worm or shadow; it is not — as it is for certain atheist biologists — a restitution of one’s organic material to nature for the subsequent use of other living things; nor is death — as it is for certain contemporary forms of religiosity inspired by Eastern doctrines (often poorly understood) — a dissolution of the person into the great ocean of universal consciousness, in the All or, according to some, the Nothing. It is rather a going to be with Christ in the bosom of the Father, to be where he is.
The veil of mystery is not removed because it cannot be removed. Just as color cannot be described to a person born blind or sound to a person born deaf, so also one cannot explain what a life outside of time and space is like to those who are still in time and space. It is not God who wanted to keep us in darkness. He has however told us about the essentials: Eternal life will be a full communion, soul and body, with the risen Christ, a sharing of his glory and joy.
QUINTO DOMINGO DE PASCUA
Cada año el Miércoles de Ceniza la liturgia nos repite estas severas palabras: "Recuerda que eres polvo y al polvo volverás." Si fuera por mí, eliminaría inmediatamente esta fórmula de la liturgia. La Iglesia ahora, con razón, permite que se sustituya por otra fórmula: "Arrepiéntanse y crean en el Evangelio". Tomadas literalmente, sin las explicaciones necesarias, las palabras de la otra fórmula son la expresión perfecta del ateísmo científico moderno: el hombre no es más que un montón de átomos y, al final, volverá a ser un montón de átomos.

CONTINUA - QUINTO DOMINGO DE PASCUA

Happy Mother’s Day
We thank you for our mothers whom you have entrust-ed with the precious care of human life since its incep-tion in the womb. You have given women the ability to participate with you in creating new life. May each woman come to understand the full meaning of this blessing, which gives unlimited capacity for selfless love to all children. Look at each mother who is expecting a child, strengthen her faith in Your fatherly care and love for her and her baby. Give her courage in times of fear or pain, un-derstanding in times of uncertainty and doubt, and hope in times of trouble. Give her joy at the birth of her child. Bless the mothers whom you have given the great privilege and responsibility of being a child's first teacher and spiritual guide. Make all of them worthily foster their children's faith, following the examples of Mary, Isabel and other holy women that follow Christ. Help mothers grow daily in the knowledge and under-stating of Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and grant them the wisdom to faithfully spread this knowledge to their children, and to all who depend on them. Help all the "spiritual mothers" who, despite the fact that they cannot have children of their own, selflessly, however, are in the care of other’s children any age and state of life. May they know the joy of fulfilling this motherly call of women, both in teaching, nursing, reli-gious life, or in other types of work that recognizes and promotes the true dignity of every human being created in their image and likeness. We ask that you send the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to the mothers of children who have died, are sick or sepa-rated from their families, or who are in danger or prob-lems of any kind. Help mourning mothers to trust in Your mercy and the parental offering of love for all their children. We ask for your blessing on all those to whom you have entrusted motherhood. May Your Holy Spirit constantly inspire and strengthen
them. May they never stop following the example of
Mary, mother of Our Lord, and imitating her fidelity, her
humility and her love. That mothers can receive their
grace abundantly in this earthly life, and that they hope
to participate in the eternal joy in Your presence in the

Dear Parents, As the month of May opened and news of restrictions are less we begin to have
many questions about when will the children receive their sacraments.
Before I give an answer to the question, I want all of us to reflect on the following: May is the month dedicated to honor Mary in special ways, such as with May crowning celebrations. This year, we can look to Mary as a model for facing uncertain times. When faced with the news that she would be the Mother of God, Mary had questions but accepted God’s plan for her with complete trust. Let us ask Mary to increase our trust in God and in those who are guiding us because they have a bigger picture of the reality of the place and the good of the people they are helping.
First Communion will not be on the scheduled dates. The children will receive their sacraments as soon as is possible without putting their health at risk. Make sure they know their prayers and do the work that the Catechists sent home. Please review how to go to Confession and how to receive Communion as many times as you can. As soon as we can, we will let you know about some lessons that will be streamed via Live for your child to take to complete the instruction.
If you haven't picked up a package please do so in the RE Office this week from 8:30am–12:00pm, 1:00pm –4:00pm for your child to complete. This package is required to be returned back to the office before June 11th. Make sure you spend some time with your child to help him/her to complete the work and understand the content.
Confirmation date has not changed. Regarding the Retreat I will give you an update as soon as I can. Confirmation instruction needs to be completed. Your teen will need to take some lessons and do some work depending on the components that he/she is missing. If you have any questions, please call the Religious Education Office at 512-480-0187, Tuesday to Friday from 9:00am to 3:30pm.
Queridos padres, A medida que empezó el mes de mayo con las noticias de que disminuyeron las medidas de seguridad, aumentaron las preguntas de para cuando los niños/niñas recibirán sus sacramentos.
Antes de que responda, quiero que reflexionemos en lo siguiente: mayo es el mes dedicado en honor de María de maneras especiales, como las celebraciones de la Coronación. Este año, podemos ver a María como modelo para enfrentarnos en tiempos de incertidumbre. Cuando recibió la noticia de que sería la Madre de Dios, la Virgen María tuvo preguntas pero acepto el plan de Dios para ella con plena confianza. Pidámosle a la Virgen María que incremente nuestra confianza en Dios y la de aquellos que nos guían ya que ellos tienen una visión mayor de la realidad del lugar y el bien de la gente que ayudan.
La Primera Comunión no se llevara a cabo en la fecha agendada. Los niños/niñas recibirán sus sacramentos lo antes posible, sin poner en riesgo su salud. Asegúrese que se aprendan sus oraciones y hagan el trabajo que sus catequistas les enviaron a casa. Ponga mucha atención en los temas de la Confesión y como y a quien recibir en la Comunión, tantas veces como sea posible. Tan pronto como podamos, les haremos saber sobre algunas lecciones que se estarán transmitiendo en Vivo para que su hijo/hija termine su instrucción.
Si aun no a recogido su un paquete de trabajo lo tiene que levantar en la Oficina de Educación Religiosa esta semana de 8:30am–12:00pm, 1:00pm–4:00pm. Es obligatorio que regrese el paquete a la oficina antes del 11 de Junio. Asegúrese de pasar tiempo con su hijo/hija para ayudarle a completar el trabajo y entender el contenido del paquete.
Confirmación – la fecha no ha cambiado. Les daremos una actualización del retiro tan pronto como sea posible. La instrucción de Confirmación se debe de completar. Su joven tendrá que tomar algunas lecciones y hacer algo de trabajo dependiendo de lo que aún le haga falta por entregar.
