From the Principal
Dear Parents,
We had a fantastic week away on our Aussie
Bush Camp excursion. The senior students can
be proud of how they conducted themselves,
representing our school and giving everything a
go. Well done students.

SCHOOL NEWS
P&C Meeting: Our next meeting will be
held 5th September. Please note this is earlier than usual to allow more time to plan for Movie Night.
Playgroup Playgroup dates for Term 3 are August 27th,
September 10th, September 24th. Hope to see
you there.
Notes and Money
Please be mindful when receiving notes for
events that it does take us time to process these
notes.
We are finding that we are sending the same
note up to 5 times to some families and then
still having to chase up permission and money at
the last minute. Other schools/events need
numbers well before the event and all of the
extra chasing up takes up valuable time for our
staff.
Your co-operation and support in this matter
would be greatly appreciated.
Homework
A quick homework reminder for students to engage in reading daily and to return homework every Friday to the class teacher.
Thank you , Miss Bayley
Movie Night
Don’t forget to spread the word about our
family outdoor movie night on 15th Septem-
ber. We still need parent helpers and donations
from local businesses for raffle prizes. Contact
Steve Brown.
We are organising a Party Hamper to raffle for
Movie Night. The prize will be drawn during the
night. We would like to collect chips, soft drink,
lollies etc. All of the non perishables you might
have at a party. Please send into the school
office.
Working Bee
The day after our Movie night we will have a
short Working Bee (9am -12). This will allow us
to clean up after Movie Night and sort out the
P&C shed. The more helpers we can get the
more we can achieve.
Family Photo Session
The P&C are having a family photo fundraiser
on 2nd Sept. Contact Charmaine Alley for more
details.
Signing in at Office
Don’t forget to sign in at the office when you
are visiting our school for any reason. This is a
NSW DET Work Health and Safety Regulation.
Fathers Day
The P&C Fathers Day stall will be held on
Wednesday. Gifts are $5 each.

as a result of the drought please speak with our
Chaplain, Mrs Chiswell, about how she may be
able to support you and connect you with other
support agencies, plus offer potential financial
relief.
Canteen
Canteen will be available again this Friday.
Year 6 ‘100 Club’ Fundraiser
We still have a number of squares available. Send
your $5 into the office to purchase your square.
When all squares are taken it will be drawn and
prizes are:
1st– $100, 2nd- $80, 3rd- $70
Presentation/Slideshow Assembly
We will have a special assembly on Friday 7th Sept
at 11.30. We will present some certificates
(Spelling Bee, ICAS etc) and view a slideshow
presentation of pictures from senior excursion.
We hope to see you all there.
NAPLAN Online
In 2019 we will be moving towards NAPLAN online
for our students. That means they will be sitting all
NAPLAN tests online. During the later part of Au-
gust our Year 3 and 5 students will be sitting a
NAPLAN readiness test. This will allow us to test
our hardware and the NAPLAN platform in our
school. Whilst no results will be received from this
test we encourage students to do their very best.
Year 3 and 5 students should bring in headphones
clearly labelled with their names. These will be
returned after the testing.
K12 Maths Fun!
K12 have been having fun exploring length in mathematics! We got creative using coloured paper to create 3D artworks made of paper, meas-ured to the same length, but manipulated by twisting, cutting the width, some curling and glu-ing to appear different! Miss Bayley
