@ Fixing screw

# metal pin

To adjust the fixing pressurethat holds the Giroform plinthplate in its place, the allen screw(2.5 mm) is turned in counter-clockwise direction to reducethe spring pressure; if turnedin clockwise direction, thespring pressure increases.

1 Trim all unnecessary partsof the impression (reflection, palatal roof) in order to obtaina dental arch which is as lowas possible but still stableenough.

NOTE:Heating of the blade facilitatestrimming of extremely viscouspolyether materials (Impregum,Permadyne, etc.).

2 Position the impressiontray in the dorsal area on atransversal rim and in thearea of the tray handle on acube sized 2 x 2 cm, both outof Giroform Putty (576461).

3 Insert the dove tail of theclear adjustment plate - withsplit retention looking upwards -into the groove of the carrierand guide it downwards.

1 Insert the plinth plate intothe plate support from thebottom. First, press the frontalgroove of the plinth plateagainst the spring bolt; thenthe have the dovetail engageat the opposite side. Tightenthe fixing screw by hand.

2 Position the carrier with theimpression on the plate support.

3 Both metal nozzles on topof the plate support clutch thetwo drill holes of the impressioncarrier.

4 Place the plate supportwith impression carrier ontothe magnetic table.

5 Turn the unit on at themain switch at the unit's front(a green control is lit). Activatethe laser by pressing either

one of the triggers.Align/determine the drillingposition by means of the laserbeam.

NOTE:The laser automatically shutsoff 2.5 min after the unit wasused last.

6 Pressing of both triggersat the same time automaticallyfixes the plate reception andinitiates the drilling process.

ATTENTION:The laser beam must be withinthe dimensions of the Giroformplinth plate. If the laser beam(= drilling position) is alignedoutside the dental arch, i.e. inthe area of the plate holderor of the retention disc, theburr might break.

Press the impression tray ontothe putty. Make sure that thesplit retention looks upwardswhen positioning the adjust-ment plate. Insert the dove tailof the clear adjustment plateinto the groove of the carrierand guide it downwards whilealigning the impression withthe center line, with the occlusalplane, and with the vestibulardimension of the later dentalarch in relation to the plate size.

4 By manipulating the puttyrim and/or cube, the impres-sion is aligned with the dorsalpart of the impression carrier.

TIP:Place the clear adjustmentplate with inserted pin on thealigned impression to checkthe height of the dental arch. The retention tip of the pin

should not touch the impres-sion (distance: approx. 3 mm).

5 Mark the saw cuts anddrill holes for the pins on theimpression material. Eachremovable segment has to befurnished with 2 pins (rotation!).Tip: In case of ill spatial condi-tions, set only 1 pin and mill aguidance groove into the plate.

IMPORTANT:Plan all adjacent teeth assingle segments since theexpansion of a long row ofadjacent teeth limits theapproximal area.

1 Place the Giroform plinthplate, with split retention loo-king downwards, in your hand.Hold the pins at the retentiontip, and push the tapered partinto the drill hole.

TIP:Friction depends on the forcesapplied when inserting the pin.(Push it in with your thumb;"pricking" indicates that bothplayless friction and removablereposition of the pin are ensu-red.)

2 Cover the MB thread holein the center with Giroformputty to protect it against pla-ster mush.

3 Put the Giroform plinthplate furnished with pins onthe impression to check if theplate flatly rests on the putty.

Spray a separating agent onthe impression, then rinse it.Mix super stone in the appro-priate mixing ration andunder vacuum.

4+5 Pour the plaster mushinto the impression preventingbubbles (the use of a vibratoris highly recommended). Whenall teeth and the preparationarea are completely covered, take the impression carrier fromthe vibrator and fill the impres-sion above the brim with plaster.

6+7 Apply plaster on thepins' retention tips and on therest surface of the plinth platein the area where the dentalarch will be located. Positionthe plate in the dove-tail gui-dance and lower it into theplaster mush until the platerests planely on the putty.

IMPORTANT: Do not applyplaster to the plate whilethe vibrator is on since thepins will become loose.

8+9 Detach after 20 ormax. 35 min by removing thevestibular putty sleeve. Then, lift off the impression fromthe impression carrier.

10+11 Divesting: Put theblade tip of a plaster knifebetween the impression andthe plaster. The model is liftedout of the impression by tur-ning the blade. Therefore, theback of the blade rests on thetray rim, and the tip of theplate levers the model out ofthe impression.

IMPORTANT:Do not exceed the maximaldivesting time of 35 minsince otherwise irreparabledimensional deviations occurdue to the plaster expansion, thus resulting in a high riskof breaking the dental arch.

12+13 Place the model flat inyour hand with the split reten-tion looking downward, hit itwith a hammer on the dorsalarea of the plate until thedental arch comes off.

14+15 Then, dry trim the den-tal arch in the vestibular andpalatal area with the Multitrimunit (115800).

16+17 As an alternative todry trimming and for finishingpurposes, a handpiece may beused furnished with mandrel(815300) and arbor band -grit 120 (815330).

1 2 3 4 5 1 Reposition the trimmeddental arch on the plinth platewithout applying pressure.Between the dental arch andthe plinth plate a gap of approx.2 mm is visible resulting fromthe plaster expansion. Theadvantage is that you see thepins when sawing.

2+3 Fix the plinth plate inthe model table of the Diacutmodel saw (171800). Align themodel table in accordancewith the cutting direction. Thesaw cuts as defined.

4 The linear expansion stress

resolves; the segment dropsonto the plate and rests tightly.

TIP:Cut the dental arch in halvesfirst and remove one half soyou can effect the saw cutswith less hindrance. Thus, theopposing side of the dentalarch is protected form gettingharmed.

5 Clean all segments andreposition them tightly on thecleaned plinth plate.
