Years 1-3 will be performing ‘A Mermaid’s Tale’ on both Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th November from 9.30am in the Dunannie/Dunhurst Hall. Please remember to register for tickets using the sign-up sheet on the noticeboard in the Dunannie Entrance. Nursery and Reception will be performing their production on Thursday 5th December at 9am in the Dunannie Library. We are very much looking forward to seeing the children perform under the spotlights. This week you will have seen in book bags, a flyer about the Dunannie Springwise challenge, to design and make a Christmas present out of upcycled materials (more details on page 9). On Tuesday, James Bidwell spoke at our assembly about the twelve Springwise innovations for an eco friendly world such as juice cups made of orange skins and plastic-free, seaweed straws that can be eaten by marine animals. We hope this has inspired the children to put their creative skills to the test. The deadline is Friday 6th December. Year 1 held their Campfire event on Thursday after school which involved them lighting a bonfire and experiencing how fire is a key source of heat and light. They also made biscuits during the day in order to make smores using marshmallows they toasted on the fire. A wonderful time was had by all. As well as our Year 1-3 Christmas Productions taking place next week we have a taster morning on Tuesday 26th November in the Nursery for all the new children who are starting after Christmas. We also have our ‘Open Classroom’ morning on Friday 29th November at 8.30am. Parents are invited into the classrooms to view the children’s work and share sometime and to find out more about what they have been up to this term. It is always a busy time, leading up to the end of term. I hope you all received our ‘Countdown to Christmas’ via email yesterday. I am also attaching this to the newsletter, for your information. Thank you to those of you who entered Hettie’s ‘Guess the Name of the Whale’ competition which is featured on page 8 of this newsletter. She raised over £50 for Dunannie’s whale, Simoom. Lastly, please note our new addition to the newsletter, our ‘Dunannie 5 a-day’. We have taken our lead from a fabulous charity called Mindapples who help people take better care of their minds, and improve their mental health

Dunannie ‘ 5 a-Day’ We all talk about our 5 a-day for our physical health, but what about our 5 a-day for our mental health? I hope you find time to fit at least a couple of

these in this week.

Look up at the sky at least twice a day for a few moments. Wear bright colours.

Be totally honest with yourself and others. Remind yourself, I am good enough.

Dance like everyone's watching!
