    Kind root guru with glorious, true gurus of the lineage, in you we take refuge.

    In yidams mandalas sacred hosts we take refuge. In bhagavan buddhas we take refuge. In true Dharma we take refuge. In exalted sanghas we take refuge. In wisdom-eyed heroes, skyfarers, Dharma guards and

    protectors hosts we take refuge. Recite as many times as is appropriate. Til [reaching] the enlightened essence I will take refuge in the buddhas. And likewise, in the Dharma and hosts Of bodhisattvas, Ill take refuge. As past bliss-gone ones roused the heart of Enlightenment and dwelt within the Bodhisattvas progressive trainings, So, too, to aid wayfarers, Ill rouse Enlightened mind and likewise will I In stages undergo the trainings. With pure body, fine, excellent form, Wisdoms ocean, like a mound of gold, In the three worlds your fame is vivid, Homage to you, guardian most realized!     The strengths of Aspiration for Fine Conduct Call all Victorious Ones to mind directly. With bodies numerous as the realms atoms, Bowed down, I fully prostrate to all Victors.

    Upon a single atom buddhas numerous As there are atoms dwell amidst their children. I likewise fancy all the spheres of dharmas Without exception filled with the Victorious.

    With all sounds, tonal modulations oceans And oceans inexhaustible of their praise, All Victors attributes I fully utter And glorify all those to bliss departed.

    With flowers excellent and the best garlands, With cymbals, ointments, parasols supreme and The finest lamplight and superior incense, To such Victorious Ones, I will make offrings.

    Arranging finest fragrances and garments And powdered offrings equal to Mt. Meru With all the finest of superior things, Ill Again make offrings to such Ones Victorious.

    Those offrings that are vast and unsurpassed I Will dedicate as well to all such Victors. By strengths of faith in fine conduct, Ill also To all Victorious Ones prostrate and offer.

    Those wrongs, which Ive committed through my body, My speech and, likewise, mind under the power of Desire, aggression and delusionI have Disclosed them, each and every one, distinctly.

    All those who wish to show passing from misery, With hands placed palm to palm, I will beseech you To stay for aeons numerous as atoms Within the realms to help and ease all beings.

Completing the intent of glorious gurus, With ease befalling all who equal space and Collections gathered, obscurations cleared, may We, barring none, be set on buddhas ground soon! May precious, supreme bodhicitta Arise in whom its not arisen. Once born, instead of lapsing, may it Increase higher and ever higher. May benefit and eases sole source The buddhas teachingslong endure and May victory banners of the lifespans Of those upholding them be steadfast! I pray that gurus all be well in body. I pray they have most excellent long life and That their enlightened actions spread and flourish. Grant blessing that I neer part from the guru!

    As many sentient ones as are ill May they be swiftly freed from illness! Without exception may wayfarers Diseases neer again befall them!

    In the direction west of here is The pure field of Unfathomable Light. Whoever holds that name in mind, may That one be born in that supreme field!

    Through might of this great, forceful merit, May donors and their circles hopes be Accomplished in their lifetimes and with All hindrance pacified, may fortune And hopes be met in line with Dharma!

    As Hero Majushr gained knowledge of how Things are, so also did Samantabhadra, To train succeeding all such ones as them, I Will fully dedicate all of these virtues.

    The prayer for the long life of Precious Refuge Guardian Knsang Thrinl Lhndrup:

    THREE JEWELS assemblage, great sovereign who HOLDS and Promotes the Shkya lions TEACHINGS, your fine ACTIVITIES guide beings through EER-GOOD conduct. May you, revered, SPONTANEOUS guru, live long!

    These words were prayed and written with a mind of admiration by Tendzin Gyatso, the Shkyas shrmaa.

    The prayer for the long life of Precious Refuge Guardian Chkyi Nangwa:

    THREE JEWELS great lord, you HOLD the Drigung TEACHINGS.Supreme one, you revive all beings through force of Unmatched compassion and true DHARMAS cooling, Serene APPEARANCESmay your life be long!

    These words were prayed and written with a mind of admiration by Tendzin Gyatso, the Shkyas shrmaa, on 8 June, 1987. May they be virtuous!

    The prayer for the long life of Lord of Refuge, Garchen Triptrl Rinpoch:

    Named ryadeva in the ryas Land, you Appeared in Khams Gar lineage as Chdingpa, Jigten Gnpos heart son, may Glorious GARCHENs Lifetimes be steadfast for a hundred aeons!

    Now, in this time of dregs, when Victors teachings Are frail, youve shouldered the unbiased doctrine Through forceful, vajra-like yogic deportment. I pray Garchen, THE TEACHINGS SUN be steadfast!

    This was prayed by Knchog Tenzin Knsang Thrinl Lhndrup, the one blessed with the name of the Victorious Drigungpa.

    A supplication to Lord of Refuge, Drubwang Knchok Norbu Rinpoch:

    With MASTERY of past SIDDHAS trove of teachings, All beings refuge, precious TRIPLE GEM, youre A JEWEL, a treasure filling all wants as wished, DRUBWANG KNCHOK NORBU, I supplicate you!

    This was composed by the Victorious One, the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel [k.a., His Holiness the Dalai Lama XIV,] and later abridged by Lord of Refuge Garchen Triptrl Rinpoch.

    Your thousand arms and eyes, the thousand Wheel turners and good aeons buddhas Homage, courageous Chenrezik with Affection all-pervading like space!

    The essence mantra of the six transcendent perfections, which liberates beings of the six classes:

    May I soon through this virtue Accomplish Lord Chenrezik Then place, with no exception, All wayfarers on that ground.

    This English translation of the Drigung Kagy prayers of refuge, bodhicitta, dedications and the like was commissioned by Drong Ngur Jangchubling Buddhist Center in Wesley Chapel, Florida and completed by the disciple Ari-ma under the guidance of Kyabj Garchen Triptrl Rinpoch. The Homage to Chenrezik was modified by Garchen Rinpoch in December of 2008.
