If content teams give multiple-choice tests, the idea would be that students were taking their finals during the last week of the year during their given block. Technically, they could take the test during one 45-minute class or it can be split between the two color days. Project/performance-based finals might be assigned earlier than finals week, with presentations during finals week or even the week before. The expectation is no different than if we were in the building - students will still be attending and engaged through the last day of school.

Graduation - Friday August 7, 2020 at 7pm at Jeffco Stadium.

Pending updated COVID 19 social distancing guidelines: We are planning to give out caps, gowns, academy cords, yearbooks, diplomas, etc in May or June as long as the stay at home order has been lifted. Students who are going to participate in August will need to keep all of the pieces to their cap and gown in a safe place as we will not have replacements available. All students who are participating in the

ceremony will need to attend a Graduation Rehearsal on August 6, 2020 in the main gym at 4 pm.. We are going to do a Senior Picnic where students can get together, see each other, sign yearbooks, and enjoy a BBQ after the rehearsal.

Mandatory Graduation Rehearsal at DRHS main gym - August 6, 4-5:15pm

Senior Picnic/Yearbook signing at DRHS cafeteria - August 6, 5:30-6:30pm

Senior Shaving Cream Celebration on back soccer field - August 6, 6:30-7:00 pm

Graduation Ceremony at Jeffco Stadium - August 7, 7:00 pm (students arrive at 6:15 pm

on east side of Jeffco Stadium) Jeffco Stadium should be able to accommodate the amount of people we usually see at Red Rocks. There will be no handicap shuttle as people will be dropped off at the main entrance, where there is an elevator. The handicap seating is across the top of the home side stands.

We are working on how to stream the event. We usually tap into the Red Rocks camera and sound system and there is no camera system except for a wide shot of the field at the stadium. We have been in touch with local companies to make this happen and will release details on how to view the ceremony from home when available.

All Jeffco High Schools are going to refund part of the graduation fee to families that would have paid for the venue (Red Rocks is not charging us). Please know that the graduation fee covers the venue, printing of diplomas, printing of the graduation program, diploma covers, cords, flower decorations, cost of senior envelopes,, etc. We are working on the logistics of how to process refunds. We will continue to update graduation information as we receive updates from the district. Thank you for your patience as we work through this process.

Day Without Hate Rally:

Day Without Hate is a student-led, grassroots organization that promotes nonviolence, unity, and respect in our schools

and communities. After the shootings at Virginia Tech in 2007, students at Standley Lake High School asked their

classmates to wear white in order to show a commitment and trust in each other to make their school a safer place. The day was an overwhelming success. Since then, students across

Colorado and the nation have taken this incredibly positive day to their communities to say that we will not tolerate

violence or hate, and we will reach out to friends and acquaintances and say, "We're all in this together."

The Day Without Hate (DWOH) District Committee is a group of students who spend the entire school year planning

activities for DWOH. They decided that they would still hold Day Without Hate on Friday, April 24th, even though they knew that we would not be at school and would have to

create a virtual DWOH experience with videos and social media challenges to be posted on Instagram

(@daywithouthate) throughout the week. Even though this year looks different than any other previous Day Without Hate, they still wanted to create a rally to celebrate DWOH,

which has been a tradition for the past decade. They worked to create a Live DWOH Rally on YouTube, bringing together speakers, singers, dancers, and poets in a celebration of the movement.
