INTRODUCTION♦ MPC-an affiliate of National Productivity Council (NPC),

Government of India, New Delhi ♦ Objective- ‘Development, Dissemination and

Application of knowledge and experience in productivity, for promoting consciousness and improvement in productivity, with an aim of strengthening the performance and competitiveness of the national economy as well as of improving the working conditions and quality of work life’

♦ aiming to promote the cause of productivity in industry, agriculture, service, infrastructure, education and other sectors of the economy

♦ It aims to help in achieving sustained all round development in India, leading to enhancement of quality of life of people in general

♦ With this background MPC planned to initiate the concept of Students Productivity Club (SPC) in all educational institutions particularly in Colleges

♦ with idea of promoting awareness as well as activities on ‘Productivity Education’

♦ The Students Productivity Club (SPC) is the brainchild of the Madurai Productivity Council (MPC)

♦ The club has the special motto of creating awareness and training on productivity associated matters to achieve the objectives

Vision♦ To empower youth / students for positive attitude

to make educational institutions empowerment / employment ready and to make them as productive assets of the country

Mission♦ To facilitate the vision through interaction with

the members of the club, sharing and providing them with the imperative resources through lectures, seminars and workshops, hands on training, industrial visits and business networking particularly among the members and also with the public

Objectives

♦ Our primary objective is ‘Productivity Education’♦ The SPCs will play an important role in

economic / industrial affairs of the region where Productivity Clubs are located

♦ Madurai Productivity Council will facilitate in scaling up their knowledge and skills on productivity associated matters

♦ special focus on business operation and investments, improving their technical, marketing and logistics segments, business diversification and dynamics etc

Resources ♦ MPC has access with vast reservoir of resources

on productivity education and manuals for skill and technical development programs and also has talent and knowledge pool

♦ MPC has wide contacts with bankers, industrialists, trade unions, professionals in functional areas of management and also with educational institutions like engineering colleges, management institutes, arts and science colleges, polytechnics, schools etc

♦ MPC is also has a library which has large collections of resources on productivity related matters. These resources can be used and shared by the members of the SPC

Functions ♦ Utilizing the resources of National Productivity Council

(NPC) / Madurai Productivity Council to fulfill the objectives of National Productivity Council (NPC)

♦ Participation in lectures, seminars, workshops and hands on training related to Productivity movement organized by Madurai Productivity Council

♦ Organizing lectures, seminars, workshops and hands on training related to Productivity Education in association with Madurai Productivity Council, Madurai

♦ Planning for the Industrial visits in collaboration with Madurai Productivity Council, Madurai

♦ Knowledge sharing on productivity related matters with the people in all kinds of sectors along with Madurai Productivity Council, MaduraiSINCE 1881
