Signature ProgramsThe following programs are paid programs and Museum admission is not included. Space is limited; please visit our website to reserve your spot!

Cauliflower Fried Rice You'll never know that the main ingredients in this healthy version of fried rice are actually vegetables! We'll use cauliflower minced finely as our "rice", and your child will be able to assist with chopping and adding additional vegetables to the mix. Members $5/Non-Members $6.

CMoP Eggstravaganza! Don't miss our annual search for treat-filled eggs in our outdoor exhibit, Move It! Each participant will get to fill their egg carton with a dozen eggs containing candy and other treats to celebrate the season. Note: Program will start promptly at the time indicated. Admission into this program is $3 for each participant.

Dr. Seuss Finger Puppets Make your own finger puppets inspired by one of Dr. Seuss' classic children's books. Will you make The Cat in the Hat, Horton the elephant, or perhaps a Wocket who might hide in your pocket? The choice is yours in this creative program! We'll provide a variety of craft materials to create your own creation or you may be inspired by one of our sample puppets. Members $3/Non-Members $4.

Garden to Table: Basil In this two-part program, you'll plant your own basil seeds to grow at home and in The Children's Garden. The basil will be ready for harvest on Saturday, May 12th and we'll use the fresh-picked basil to make Caprese Pasta Salad in our KIDchen! Members $8/Non-Members $10. NOTE: Payment for this program includes admission into the program on Sunday, March 11th for planting and on Saturday, May 12th for harvesting and cooking.

Garden to Table: Sunflowers In this two-part program, you'll plant your own sunflower seeds to take home and in The Children's Garden. The sunflowers will be ready for harvest on Saturday, May 26th and we'll use the sunflowers to make Sunflower Seed Muffins in our KIDchen! Members $8/Non-Members $10. NOTE: Payment for this program includes admission into the program on Sunday, March 18th for planting and on Saturday, May 26th for harvesting and cooking.

Handmade Ice Cream Sandwiches Celebrate summer in the best way possible - by making an ice cream sandwich from two delcious chocolate chip cookies. We'll provide the cookies, ice cream, and even some sprinkles to roll it in, you provide the sweet tooth! Members $4/Non-Members $5.

KIDchen Jam Session Join us in our new KIDchen to work on spreading skills while hearing a story! Each week we'll offer a new bread and spread to try while listening to a related story. Admission into the program is $2 per participant.

Lucky St. Patrick's Day Cupcakes Your little lad will enjoy making their own cupcake treat to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! Your cupcake can be topped with some creamy frosting, a candy rainbow, and some chocolate pots-of-gold. To-go containers will be provided so that you may take home your treat, if desired. Members $3/Non-Members $4.

Mess Makers for Toddlers/Mixed Ages It's Slime Time! Join us in this session where we will play with slime, ooey gooey putty, and other messy goop! The best part is that we do the clean-up, so you don’t have to! Please note: You may wish to bring a change of clothes for your little one, since we do get involved in hands-on messy play in this program! The Toddler Class is designed for children between the ages of 12 to 24 months whereas families with children of all ages are welcome in our Mixed Ages Class. Parents/caregivers must attend. Members $8/Non-Members $10.

Mint-Scented Grinch Playdough Make your own scented playdough using mint in this hands-on program in our new Kidchen! You and your child will measure, mix, and knead your dough that you will get to take home with you. Members $3/Non-Members $4.

Paper Bag Hats Design and create your own wacky paper bag hat in this fun program! The possibilities are endless for you to create a creative hat using pipe cleaners, foam shapes, tissue paper, and so much more. Members $2/Non-Members $3.

Pi Day Come celebrate Pi Day with us by making your own foldover pie! Your little one will make their own pie crust to fill and foldover with apple pie filling. Members $3/Non-Members $4.

Spring Basket Bonanza Spring has sprung at the Children's Museum of Phoenix! We invite you to come decorate your own basket to celebrate the season! We'll provide baskets and an assortment of decorative items, including: flowers, ribbon, pipe cleaners, foam letters, and much more. Members $6/Non-Members $8.

Stamped Book Bags Decorate your own canvas book bag with stamps and markers to use for toting around those books! Members $4/Non-Members $5.

Storybook KIDchen: Green Eggs & Ham! Enjoy a reading of Green Eggs and Ham, followed by preparing your own delicious ham and egg cup. Your child will enjoy whisking their egg and adding spinach and cheese to your tasty snack. Members $5/Non-Members $6.

Storybook KIDchen: The Cat in the Hat Fruit Parfaits Make a layered fruit parfait inspired by The Cat in the Hat's striped hat using assorted red fruits and vanilla yogurt. In this session, children will learn knife cutting skills with child-friendly knives and will cut the fruit to use in their parfait. Members $3/Non-Members $4.

Storybook KIDchen: Truffula Tree Cake Pops Make a delicious cake pop that closely resembles a Truffula Tree from The Lorax. Your child will enjoy crumbling the cake, mixing, shaping, and dipping their cake balls in this hands-on cooking experience.Members $4/Non-Members $5.

Arizona Burn Foundation presents Milo & Moxie, Smart Safety Rangers Learn about the importance of preventing burn injuries from our friends at Arizona Burn Foundation. They will share storybook-based safety information with featured characters, Milo and Moxie, in our brand new Kidchen!

Bartholomew and the Oobleck Children will celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday as they hear the classic story of Bartholomew and the Oobleck while discovering the magic and mystery behind oobleck.

Eggsploration Discover the wonder of eggs in this program where you'll closely examine a variety of eggs using your senses.

Guess Who? It's Thing 1 and Thing 2! It’s Dr. Seuss Month, and what shall you do? Join us at the museum to make Thing 1 or Thing 2! We will make tempera paint handprints to create the hair, face, and body of the popular character! Will you make Thing 2 or Thing 1? Either way, you are sure to have some fun!

Junior League of Phoenix Presents: R.O.C.K.E.T.S. Join the Junior League of Phoenix R.O.C.K.E.T.S. program for some hands-on science learning!

Leaf Exploration Explore leaves by measuring them and comparing their sizes and so much more in this hands-on program in The Children's Garden!

Lorax Mustache Inspired by The Lorax, your child will love making their own paper mustache on a stick in this program. Have your camera handy for some fantastic photo opportunities with your child's new photo prop!

Sensory Soil Join us in The Children's Garden to explore components of soil using your senses. Components of the soil will be separated to allow children to study the parts that make a moisture-holding, well-draining, and nutrient-rich soil.

Seuss Sound Sleuths Mr. Brown heard many sounds in the Seuss classic, Mr. Brown Can Moo. What sounds can you hear in The Children's Garden? Buzzing bees, honking horns, chirping birds and so much more will be discovered in this sound scavenger hunt!

TFFFN: Brain Time Visitors will learn about our Brain Time programs for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers while interacting with age-appropriate toys and materials.

The Children's Garden Busy Bees Discover the important work that bees do for our environment in this hands-on program in The Children's Garden.

There's A Wocket in My Pocket! Create your own strange creature, inspired by those in the Dr. Seuss classic, There's a Wocket in My Pocket! We'll provide the materials to make your creature, you and your little one will get to create it and decide where it might live!

Wacky Wednesday Scavenger Hunt Celebrate the last Wednesday of our Dr. Seuss themed month by participating in our Wacky Wednesday scavenger hunt. Can you find all of the strange and unusual things around the Museum during your visit today?

Brain Time This program emphasizes simple but critical messages about early brain development. Included are stories, songs, rhymes, and one-on-one parent/child playtime with brain-based learning toys and books. Baby Yoga Both baby and parent will participate in repetitive soothing motions of relaxation techniques, constructive play, and experience some yoga poses and practice breathing to embrace and celebrate the developmental milestones in the first year of the baby’s life. Get Ready to Read! Early Literacy Screenings Is your child ready for Kindergarten? Get Ready to Read! is an early literacy program designed to help parents ensure that young children are equipped with the fundamental skills necessary for learning to read. The goal of Get Ready to Read! is to screen children between the ages of 3 years-5 years, for pre-reading skills before they enter kindergarten and provide skill-strengthening activities to ensure their reading success. Each screening takes about 10 minutes and the kids walk away with pre-reading exercises as well as a free book. Admission into the Museum is FREE when you pre-register for this program.

Math Before You Can Add...Or Even Count! Think your child is too young for math? Come experience the joy of math with your child through hands-on projects, and learn more tools that you can implement at home. There are two classes offered for ages birth-2 and 3-5yrs. Admission into the program is FREE with paid Museum admission.

Phoenix Public Library Presents: Kindergarten Bootcamp Kindergarten Bootcamp gives parents tools, information, and activities to help prepare their children for school success in a fun, educational, and interactive setting. The series consists of seven sessions, 1 hour each, for 4-5 year olds who are preparing to enter kindergarten in Fall 2018 along with their parent or caregiver. Under the guidance of an early literacy specialist, parents and caregivers work with their children on foundational skills which have been demonstrated to be the most important for both a successful kindergarten and school experience. It is important that parents and children attend every session including Week 7 graduation! Registration is required for this program. Kindergarten Bootcamp meets on the following dates: March 22nd, March 29th, April 5th, April 12th, April 19th, April 26th, and May 3rd. Attendance is expected at all 7 classes.

Raising A Reader: Family Storytelling One of Southwest Human Development’s literacy experts will educate parents on the importance of sharing family stories as a way to enhance early language and literacy, and the use of storytelling to preserve culture and heritage. Parents will share special stories about their own families and the trainer will discuss ways to extend these memories into make-believe, predictions, and print. This workshop is designed for children ages birth to five plus a parent/caregiver and includes story time, an art activity, singing and dancing.
