Mother’s Day Stall this week albeit with a few modifications. I would like to thank Colleen Faggotter and Kathryn Hill for organising the Mother’s Day Stall and also thank our ESO team for their support in ensuring the Mother’s Day Stall could operate in 2020.

School Uniform As we enter into the winter months, the children are required to wear their winter school uniform. We do allow a 3 week changeover in order to allow parents to organise the purchase of the uniform through the uniform shop. Dear Parents, Welcome back to Term 2 for 2020. I hope that you all had a relaxing holiday break and that you managed to find ways to keep your children entertained and engaged. We’re glad to have our children back! As I sit here and write this newsletter article, I am pleased to report that we have 90% of our children back at school. The school definitely was feeling empty towards the end of last term and it is great to see all of the children once again enjoying each other’s company. With most of our children returning to school, we are starting to return to our normal face to face learning and classroom programs will soon be returning to normal. I will continue to update parents about the changes in our school programs and operations through my regular weekly COVID-19 updates which I will be positing on Seesaw each Friday. Term 2 Calendar and School Events Even though our classroom programs are returning to normal, the current social distancing requirements still mean that we will not be holding any whole school large gatherings (assemblies and Masses) or participating in any excursions or sports carnivals until further notice. This means that our whole school calendar for Term 2 which contains these events is looking pretty empty at the moment. We will resume holding these events and participating in sports carnivals as soon as we are given the all clear to do so by the Government and Catholic Education SA. I am both optimistic and hopeful that some of these events will be able to run towards the later part of this term and that we may be able to return to running our much-loved community activities in Term 3. At this stage we have re-scheduled our School Concert to the end of Term 3 and our Sports Day and Year 5-7 camp will be held in Term 4. I will confirm the dates of these events in the coming weeks. Mother’s Day Stall As communicated via Seesaw late last week we decided to host our

8. Socks – white (if socks have a trim only the school colours are acceptable – blue and/or green and/or yellow as found on the school emblem)”

Please note that due to the COVID-19 the thicker shirts which we have ordered for the girls have been delayed. There have also been some delays in some other items of uniform. Please speak to Liz Morris in the uniform shop if you have any questions about the uniform. Thank you I would once again like to thank all of our staff, students and parents for the tremendous way in which you have worked together over the last 7 weeks. We have been living through unprecedented and challenging times, however the support of a fantastic and understanding community has meant that we have successfully negotiated these challenges. We are so happy to have our school slowly returning to some sense of normality. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our mums, grandmas and step-mums a very Happy Mother’s Day. I really hope you enjoy spending the day with your children and that you are showered with love and appreciation. God Bless,

Ashley Keane Principal

2020 School Fees & Fee Remission - We are here to help Term 2 fees were mailed today. At Our Lady of Hope School we are committed to ensuring that an inability to pay fees should not prevent families from pursuing or continuing the enrolment of their children at our school. During difficult times we are conscious that children and families require stability, and we believe that the best way that we can assist you in providing that stability is to ensure that students remain enrolled at a school that they know and are comfortable in. If your family has lost significant income due to COVID-19 you will receive a school fee remission effective immediately, initially for a period of 3 months. This is the equivalent of 1 terms fees and levies. We will continue to review the fee situation for individual families and the school as a whole. If you are experiencing any financial difficulty due to loss of income during the current time, please contact me via email [email protected] for a confidential discussion regarding your circumstances, with a view to working out a solution that best supports your family. Kind regards, Charmaine Gillard, School Bursar

From the School Chaplain

The VIRTUES

Consideration is being thoughtful about other people and their feelings. It is thinking about how your actions affect them and caring about how they feel. It is paying attention to what other people like and don’t like, and doing things that give them happiness.

Cooperation is working together for the good of everyone. It is a willingness to respect others and to follow rules which keep everyone safe and happy. It is joining others in order to do something that cannot be done alone.

Courage is personal bravery in the face of fear. It is doing what needs to be done even when it is really hard or scary. It is admitting mistakes and then doing the right thing. Courage is the strength in your heart. Di Hill, Chaplain

grandma. Best wishes to all for Mother’s Day on Sunday.
