A Note from the Music Director
I am thrilled to present the 2015/16 season of the York Symphony Orchestra. This season offers some of the finest musical works and a wonderful array of guest artists.
Each program presents an incredible variety of musical selections and from all genres of the classical repertoire. This season we will celebrate the 150th birthday of Sibelius with his second symphony, the endearing symphony by Bizet and a blockbuster all Tchaikovsky concert. Some of the highlights this season include a movies themed program, a romantic Love at the Opera concert and our traditional seasonal festive concert in December.
The musicians in the orchestra are proud to be part of the fabric of the community as they volunteer their time and talent to share wonderful music making. I look forward to seeing you all at our performances and together continue the tradition of the concert experience.
Sincerely,Denis MastromonacoMusic Director
