• To reduce road accident, emission of green house gases and soundpollution in the locality.
• Students preparing Action Plan for solving the traffic problem in front of School
MAKING STRATEGIES…
What are the steps in the implementing of my project?
• Identification of problem and its cause, to explain the problem to the Principal, teachers and other students of the school. June 17-30, 2013.
• Preparation of data sheet, collection of data, analysis of data based on survey and design of campaign (intervention) on the basis of the survey/audit results. July 1-30, 2013.
• Preparation of action plan. August 1-10, 2013• Intervention-awareness campaign in school, workshop, small

10, 2013
What are the challenges I anticipate in the process?
1. The auto rickshaw drivers and bus drivers are non-supportive.
2. Parents are also not following the traffic plan.3. Students don’t know and do not obey traffic
rules.4. Everyone is in HURRY. So they do not obey
our traffic plan.5. Excess use of vehicles running on fossil fuels
by students.
What are the kinds of resources I will be able to gather while doing this project?
• Local traffic department will give information and training to the students to follow the traffic rule.
• Railway department also showing interest to solve this problem
• School principal, teaching and non-teaching staff and parents are also willing to get involved in the campaign.
When will I say my project is a success?
• 80% reduction in traffic in front of my school. • Four more school taking part in this action project and
implement the traffic plan in their own school connected to the same road.
• Reduction in accidents and accidental deaths in front of school. ( in the year 2012, 148 accidents and 2 death).
• Reduction of green house gases and sound pollution.• Saving of human hour which is wasted due to traffic in
front of school.
• .
How do I plan to take my action forward after the project is over?
• Involve more schools following traffic plans initiated by self-motivation of the students.
• Since the students are involved due to internal motivation so this action plan will continue in future because they know the importance of following the traffic rule.
