Aspects of the Study • Student performance in Class 4,6,8 in Science, Social
Sciences, Mathematics and English
• Student attitudes and values
• Learning environments & organizational aspects of the school
– structure, decision making, leadership's vision and thinking,
classroom practices etc
• co-scholastic areas - perspective and facilities provided
Issues with “best” schools in India • Fall in student performance compared to a similar study 5 years back and
the best schools in India performed below the global averages
• Matters of concern on student attitudes and values level that could over
time grow into biases and prejudices that could affect society
• At the learning environment level:
• Significant gap in the what leadership wanted and actual practice
• Teachers do not get to participate in important decisions
• Strict disciplining, including through physical means, is sanctioned by
teachers and principals
• Constructivist methods are not practiced in the classroom
• Difference in how principals and teachers view co-scholastic areas (art,
sport etc) and the facility and time they actually provide in their schools
Wipro partnered with Educational studies to conduct a
Quality Education Study in India’s leading private schools.

ensure balanced and inclusive economic growth
• Students in schools and colleges today will be our future policy makers, technocrats,
administrators & educationists who will lead this change
Step towards ‘Active Engagement’ with educational institutes and employees-
Students from schools & colleges are expected to write papers on one of
the themes of sustainability. Wipro Employees act as mentors and
provide guidance to the participating themes

Wipro IT climate solutions portfolio
A study by McKinsey published in October 2008 suggests that in just five sectors of Manufacturing, Transportation, Buildings, Power and
Dematerialization, innovative IT solutions can contribute to as much as 35% of the potential GHG reductions by 2020. This reduction far exceeds the
almost doubling of emissions of the IT sector itself during this period - from 0.86 gigatons in 2007 to 1.54 gigatons in 2020, the latter in spite of the
steady increases in the energy efficiency of IT infrastructure.
