Department Practices
• Show ALL work• Complete all daily
assignments• Incomplete assignments

Materials• Binder designated for Math only that will be kept
in the classroom• Dividers• Loose-leaf paper• Pencil pouch including
– multiple pencils or mechanical pencils WITH lead – erasers– red grading pen– highlighter– manual sharpener

7th Grade Expectations• Students have homework every night except on
test days• Assignments are due the following school day• Absent work is accepted for one week for full credit• Missing work is accepted up to one week for up to
75% original credit– The gradebook will not be altered to reflect missing
assignments turned in after the missing deadline
• Incomplete assignments are not accepted and will be counted as missing – students must attempt every problem
7th Grade Expectations• Tests and quizzes are given with advanced
notice
• Portions of tests can be retaken within two weeks of the testing date
• Quizzes can be retaken until the quarter deadline
• The retake score is final
• Students must attend a remediation session in order to retake any assessment
• The fastest way for a student to improve their grade is to retake tests and quizzes
Planners
• Required each day
• Must be filled out the first day of the week
• Include class exit passes
• Are a great tool for information on assessments and deadlines
Clickers• Technology used for recording warm-up and
cool-down exercises daily
• Students are required to show appropriate use of the clickers
Weighted Grading
• Tests are 50% of the quarterly grade• Quizzes are 30% of the quarterly
grade• Daily Assignments are 10% of the
quarterly grade• Classwork / Communication is 10%
of the quarterly grade
What you can expect from usWe will…
– provide a safe learning environment that fosters student success
– reply to parent correspondence within 24 hours– provide time for students to record
information/assignments in their planners– update the calendar and tutoring times on our
website weekly with assignment topics and important due dates
– provide opportunities for extra help outside of class time by appointment
– provide a grade sheet 3 weeks into each quarter

daily assignments• Provide us with current contact information
including phone numbers and email addresses• Contact us with concerns or questions as soon
as they arise• Sign grade sheet and return when received
