The design concept for these beautiful homes comes from The Brackens, originally a large family retreat and now the centre-piece of the development. The façades reflect the period features of the main building, with steep gables reminiscent of Arts and Crafts style, front door porches, and patterned brickwork, some in contrasting colours. The effect is a beautifully reimagined place to call home.
The architectural character of Victorian and Edwardian homes in nearby Ascot and Sunningdale are evident at Brompton Gardens.

Creating a sustainable living environment that is also called home, is central to the ethos of Brompton Gardens.
Designed to high sustainability standardsAt Berkeley, environmental sustainability means managing and minimising the environmental impact from our operations and delivering homes and communities that are environmentally sound, as well as being designed and built to a high quality.
Berkeley Homes are committed to sustainable, energy efficient development from recycling of construction and office waste to the use of sustainably sourced materials. The cornerstone of our approach is to reduce the resources used at the development during construction and occupation and enhance the site’s ecological features and assets.
Energy efficiency
Berkeley Homes adopt a ‘fabric first’ approach, this is about designing new build homes with energy efficiency and sustainability in mind – from heating and lighting, down to the insulation used. ‘Fabric First’ includes an enhanced insulation which is used for the floors, walls, roofs and windows, which keeps more heat in. Each new build home has a high air-tightness target which means less heat is lost, making the home more energy efficient. Thereby, reducing the long term energy demands and carbon footprint of the site.
Additional features include:
• A++ rating to all fridges, freezers and dishwashers
• Low energy lighting is installed throughout all homes and externally
WasteAll homes are provided with internal recycling bins within the kitchen areas to encourage the segregation of waste, in addition to the required external bins.
WaterWater reduction methods will be implemented, such as dual flush WC’s and flow regulated / aerated taps and showers.
Enhancing ecologyBerkeley Homes Oxford and Chiltern are in partnership with the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust. To enhance our approach to biodiversity we are supporting the Wildlife Trust. Through this partnership we hope to engage our residents and local communities in their local wildlife and do our part in helping protect local nature reserves.
Set in 19 acres of mature woodland including a woodland trail across the development. There is a woodland management plan to ensure the woodland and trees within are managed well.
Sustainable transportPositioned in the sought-after area of north Ascot on the London Road, Brompton Gardens offers easy connections by car. With nearby access to the M3 motorway and onto Heathrow airport, it’s also the ideal starting point for trips by rail into London. A bus stop aptly named The Brackens is directly opposite the entrance, with services direct to Heatherwood Hospital or Station Hill near Ascot railway station. The centre of Ascot is also only five minutes away in the car, making it easy to enjoy race days and everything else this aspirational town has to offer.
Community facilitiesSituated at Brompton Gardens, you are spoilt for choice when it comes to amenities in the local area. Just 5 minutes is Ascot High Street, with its array of cafes, pubs and shops. Nearby Windsor is 19 minutes away with high street shops and restaurants. The Lexicon, Bracknell hosts more than 100 fashion and beauty brands as family entertainment, including 12-screen cinema.

Efficient and considerate operationsWe reduce the impact of the construction process on the local community by registering all of our sites with the Considerate Constructors Scheme. We set targets to reduce water, energy and waste. We work with our supply chain to ensure that high quality services and materials are consistently provided.
Commitment to people and safetySafety is a high priority on all of our construction sites. We also aim to have a positive impact on society and enable young and unemployed people to get into work through our support of the Berkeley Foundation.
The Berkeley FoundationBerkeley takes social responsibility very seriously. In 2011 we set up the Berkeley Foundation, with the aim of supporting Britain’s young people and their communities. We do this through a number of partner charities that tackle some of the most pressing social problems affecting young people today, including homelessness and unemployment. The money raised comes part from the Berkeley Group, and also through the tireless and inventive efforts of our staff.
We have set a goal for the Berkeley Foundation to invest £10 million over the next five years to support young people and their communities. Every penny will be spent on charitable activities and worthy causes to ensure that maximum benefit is achieved.
