mortar in between is likely to expand and contract which will create tension and compression on the glass block.

steel frame will support the load from the concrete panel so that the load will not transfer to glass blocks

expansion material allow movement to reduce the impact of expansion and contraction

small slit to avoid water from dripping down the window

slanting to avoid water from collecting on the surface of the concrete / seeps through gaps

too many gaps increase possibility of leakage

flexible sealant stop water from dripping as well as allowing movement for expansion.

plywood is not the best material to use for a structure that experience a lot of moisture

• steel material is widely use.• steel has high embodied energy• negative impact on sustainability
